Nonnas
The movie “Nonnas” is inspired by the real-life story of Enoteca Maria, a Staten Island restaurant run by Joe Scaravella, where he hired real Italian grandmothers (nonnas) to cook traditional dishes. Lorraine Bracco plays Roberta, one of the nonnas in the film, alongside other actresses like Susan Sarandon, Brenda Vaccaro, and Talia Shire. The movie follows Joe and the nonnas as they navigate the challenges and joys of running the restaurant.
