Those Nerds Over There

Times are tough right now, but that doesn't mean there still aren't plenty of things to be excited about! The new season of anime brings back some dearly beloved shows and gives us some wildly new adaptations. Legends of Runeterra is leaving beta soon with a release of a new region and cards. Twenty One Pilots released a single that brought us some hope regarding social distancing. Wizards of the Coast is giving people resources to be able to play D&D at home so we can stay connected. We hope you and your loved ones are safe out there listeners! Keep up the social distancing and we believe in you!

This week's question: Do you think the Sonic movie helped bolster the sales of the sonic games?

Guess what? Livestream 4 the Cure is coming back again May 27th - 31st! Hosted by the Epic Film Guys and sponsored by the Cancer Research Institute, this year we're trying to raise $10,000! We're joined once again by the dark one James Bousema who makes a pretty good argument as to why the devil makes a great husband. Continuing the horror theme Allen brings up the new trailer for Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula. Sal finishes with how he feels about Bravely Default II and surprises us with a cool internet event known as Magical Readathon.

We hope you and your loved ones are safe out there listeners! Keep up the social distancing and we believe in you!

APRIL FOOLS! Or... is it? I guess that is for you to decide on this week's episode where Sal and Allen sound a little... different. But there is still a lot of cool things to be excited about, like Catan, Polaroid, and Streets of Rage!

We're joined this week by long time friend of the show Jacob who, luckily, is doing well! Jacob informed us that we're getting a remake of 2006 anime Higurashi When They Cry, shockingly, being re-made by studio Passione. Sal surprises us with news that Bleach is finally adapting their final story arc and Tite Kubo has another project being adapted. Allen surprises no one by talking about his first few days in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. We love you all and hope you're safe out there!

Dear listeners, we hope you're safe out there. This week we are joined by our friend Suspiria who informed us of a new MMORPG being developed by Amazon called New World. Sus and Allen spend time talking about some of the ways companies and people have been helping each other out amidst the chaos. While we're all practicing some social distancing Sal recommended a wonderful show called I Am Not Okay with This. If you're a fan of coming of age stories then Sal says you're in for a treat!

Sus mentioned some ways you can help with COVID-19 research. If you want to help out then be sure to check out Folding@home and Rosetta@home if you're interested in donating your computing power! Stay safe out there and we love you!

It doesn't take much to get us excited. A short trailer and some rumors about a television adaptation were enough for Allen and Sal to go nuts! Sal presented to us the trailer for Justice League Dark: Apokolips War which will be the final entry into the DC animated universe. The DC animated movies are criminally underrated and your hosts went over a few of their favorites. HBO recently announced that they want to adapt The Last of Us into a television show which Allen was all for. Fingers crossed they go through with it!

This week's question: What's your Sonic universe OC?

This week we take a ride on the darker side with Sir! So gather around the campfire as we talk about Baldur's Gate 3, Castlevania Season 3 and The Black Monday Murders.

**Update Disclaimer** Shortly after the recording of this episode artists and companies have pulled out of going to ECCC, Sir being one of them so we apologize for the contradiction but they will no longer be attending. The status of Those Nerds attendance is to be announced.

This week's question: F***, Marry, Kill Anime addition.

A very on-brand episode this week where Sal rants about Star Wars and Allen gushes about Persona, but not in the usual sense. That's right, we are hitting you with literature in Star Wars: Lost Stars and a Dynasty Warriors type game with Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers!

Cosplay is one of the great pillars of nerd culture and we got the opportunity to interview a special guest who turned her passion into a career! Thank you to Vanessa De Galicia aka Fruitcake for joining us this week and answering our questions about the cosplay industry. Check out her Twitter and Twitch stream if you've ever wanted to cosplay! We also got excited about the new Death Note One Shot Special and how we're all attending LVLUP EXPO 2020!
