This week we spend some more time with another of America’s Top 100 Golf Instructors, E.A. Tischler. E.A. is a co-founder of the BioSwing Dynamics and the author of 28 books on golf. E.A. has been the coach to numerous PGA Tour Players with students playing on almost every professional tour. He spends some time with us, Those weekend Golf Guys, talking how to get better at golf with his friend and fellow Top 100 teacher, Jeff Smith. John was just listening and taking copious notes. This week we feature an interview from a couple years back with Sara Stone, Top 100 teacher, friend of Jeff Smith, and all around great woman to know. She has an infectious laugh and an innate ability to make you better at golf. This week on Those Weekend Golf Guys we talk about wedge shots. Why do we talk about the so much? Because they are the number one reason you can’t break 80. Your wedge shots suck. I mean you’re right there, just off the green in regulation so you chip or pitch or otherwise try to use a wedge to cozy the ball up to the hole but you skull it about 10 yards off the green or you stub it and send a chunk of dirt flying further than the ball. You swear a little, clean the mud of the wedge and try again this time getting it close enough to try that 20 footer for bogie. Maybe you should just write down a double on the score card and don’t become the entertainment for your playing partners. Jeff will fix it this week. Will you finally take his advice? We need more women to play golf. The ratio of men to women in golf is 88% to 12%, men to women. That is pretty lopsided if you ask us. This week we interview a woman who is typical of the women that are increasingly coming to golf as their first choice for recreation. Diane is 41, a mom, a wife, has her own business and has recently taken up golf. We talk with Diane about why she chose golf, how she likes it so far, and what her main challenges are.Her goal is to as soon as possible become good enough that she becomes a valued team member of any and all scramble teams. And speaking of scrambles, John and Jeff discuss the dangerous “this one’s closer” technique of choosing the ball to hit next and why that can get you into so much trouble. We all know we should get in better shape to play better golf. We have seen many different suggestions on-line and in magazines about workouts we could do that have been optimized for golf. This week we welcome Jeff Pelizzaro from 18Strong to the show. Jeff is an expert on exercise specifically to improve golf performance. He will tell us what to do and even more importantly WHAT NOT TO DO! Jeff claims there are many exercises (that have been recommended by the “experts”) that will do more harm to your game than good. There is a caddie at The Pete Dye Course at French Lick who sent us a message that said: “…I love Jeff’s tips on how to play better. I have used some of them with the guys I caddie for up here. This week on Those Weekend Golf Guys Jeff Smith relates just how cool it was to be live, walking the grounds at Whistling Straights for this years’ Ryder Cup. And then we receive a challenge. The caddie that worked John’s group both times he has played at The Dye Course at French Lick Resort this year, Randy, left a challenge. He has heard John and Jeff talk about what it would take to break 80. Well, not only does Randy agree with  Jeff’s advice, he wants it to happen at The Dye Course with Randy as the caddie. Some rewards, some little side bets, and some great laughs at the situation abound on this weeks’ episode of Those Weekend Golf Guys
