Eilish Hardiman is the Chief Executive of Children’s Health Ireland which is responsible for a huge country wide healthcare transformation programme valued at over 2 billion euros. This is the biggest public sector capex spend in the history of the country. Leading it is a sizeable role with a lot of moving parts.
In our podcast Eilish took time out of her busy schedule to discuss how she approached getting the absolute best performance from her teams. She notes that the key to making this happen across the organisation is to support people in not getting caught up in the mental noise and interference that so many of us carry around. With knowing this people can then deliver to their real potential.
Eilish discusses how people need to be in the best mind space to be able to think clearly and actively listen. She has realised that investing in leadership development and coaching gets the best out of her teams.
She explains how it is the team at the top who set the tone and the culture of an organisation and therefore how they need to be a well-oiled unit. And this comes with the right mind set, clarity of thinking and a reduction in the distractions of mental noise.
On her own journey of learning about THOUGHT INTELLIGENCE®, Eilish noticed that having less mental noise or greater clarity of thought allows her to have the capacity for new ideas and creative solutions. Two qualities at the heart of effective innovation and change.”
