Threads of Enlightenment

I interviewed Kim Sorrelle. Kim is an Entrepreneur, author, speaker, World Changer, director of a humanitarian organization. Kim's journey is one of the most compelling, dealing with issues such as the suicide of her mother, crippling seizure with two of her children, breast cancer, the death of her beloved husband also from cancer, and the death of her father. Yet she stands strong, displaying the power of the human spirit. Kim wanted to know the secret and power that is true love, so she dedicated a life-changing year to discovering the true meaning of love then wrote a book about it, LOVE IS.

Kim, describes that book as the nitty-gritty, sometimes scary, many times funny experiences that led me to the answers she searched for. The stories are from Haiti, where she spent most of the year, a place where love is challenging, abundant, and contagious. There is no manual, no Love For Dummies; we learn from our parents, other people in our lives, and not everything we learn is right. What she learned translates into business, parenting, political divides, family relationships and can change the world. I encourage everyone to buy a copy or several copies of her book and give them as gifts.

Today Kim writes stories from her heart, sharing her experiences in life, in love, and her passion for serving, her work has her splitting time between her home in Michigan and the places Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Kim loves to travel anywhere and meet new people everywhere. As a young child, she would conjure up stories with her imagination, sharing them with anyone who would listen. The thrill of language and creation she first discovered as a child has never gone away. Kim believes that her eleven grandkids are the bomb and will someday solve issues like social injustice, food insecurity, and sock eating dryers.

I interviewed Branch Isole. Born in Osaka, Japan, Branch traveled extensively growing up, calling many places home. After finishing high school at Rolling Hills, California, he graduated from Texas State University, San Marcos, did post-graduate work at the University of Houston, and received his Oxford MA Theology degree from Trinity College and Seminary, Newburgh, Indiana. Branch is an author of twenty-two books in four genres. His writing focuses on personal responsibility and self-discovery themes spanning a wide range of reflective identity situations and scenarios every adult recognizes. His stories explore concepts and actions of struggle and relationship dynamics across a broad spectrum. Branch writes of issues and emotions often experienced but not always voiced. Forty-two short story poems from Branch's books have been reprinted by magazines, newspapers, and e-zine publications. Branch has been a guest on 'Talk Radio' programs nationwide and can speak with groups, large or small. Branch participates in book festivals and writers conferences, where he shares the 'pathway to self-publishing success' with aspiring authors. He also teaches sessions using his "3-R" poetry model with new poets.

I interviewed Avigail Gimpel. I interviewed Corbie Mitleid. Corbie is an author, Certified Tarot Master, Certified Professional Tarot Reader, professional Psychic Medium, past-life specialist, and Ordained Minister. She describes herself as always being "the different one." A writer and visionary in a completely medical family (father a doctor, mother a nurse, brother a doctor) has always made her path rather than take a one cut for her by others. I interviewed Marie B Scott. Marie is an author, functional Medicine Health Coach. Focusing on the growing population of widows and widowers to gain health, humor, and love back into their lives. After losing her beloved firefighter husband, she's acquainted with the difficulty and the effects it has on someone's health. Marie stated without applying Functional Medicine into her life she would be unhealthy, depressed, alone, and without laughter. After discovering Functional Medicine as a client, she became passionate about the difference it can make for individuals. Marie went on to earn her Health Coach certification with the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy. Now, she uses her knowledge to help widows and widowers reclaim their own lives. Marie lives well through exercise, meditation, and clean eating. These changes helped her lose the extra thirty pounds that she claimed she was carrying around for years. Most significantly, as a result of these life changes she no longer takes prescription meds for blood pressure, cholesterol, depression, or hormones. Marie says that she laughs more and finds something to smile about every single day. I interviewed Jennifer and Stephanie PageWise. This interview was one of my favorites. Their story inspired me so much that we worked tiredly to make it possible due to technical issues, but it had to be heard. Jennifer and Stephanie PageWise are Quantum Relationship Coaches who work with the LGBTQ+ community. Their mission is to bring more love to the world, one relationship at a time.
