In Galatians 5, Paul begins to describe the free life God wants for us. We were set free to be free - and to use that freedom to selflessly serve others.

Paul tells an old, allegorical story to the Galatians to help them see a few spiritual truths. He wants them to see that everything is best when it's left in God's hands rather than taking matters into our own.

Because we know God, we cannot live the same lives we did beforehand. Our salvation doesn't require our obedience, but our salvation produces it. We cannot stay the same.

We are no longer orphans without a home nor bondservants who are obligated to a debt to their master. Instead, if we believe in Jesus, we're children of God, adopted fully into his family.
