Charlotte chats to Seb and Verity about her collaborations with BalletBoyz, Paraorchestra and Onyx Brass. The term ‘Orchestral Synthesizer’ gets bandied about by Verity - don’t worry, Charlotte clarifies what she’s wanging on about!

There is misinformation about clubbing, discussions on dance music, leg warmers and some shocking discoveries about mutes.

Yet again, Seb and Verity commit to a cause they will struggle to see through (see presents for guests). This time it’s starting a campaign for Charlotte to play ‘The Local Hero’ as Newcastle United run on to the pitch at St. James’ Park. When will they learn?

In the third of their transatlantic trilogy, Seb and Verity chat to composer, arranger and multi instrumentalist Kelly Pratt.

Kelly talks touring and orchestrating for David Byrne and St. Vincent, Beirut and Father John Misty. They chat about favourite festivals (remember them?!) and great venues. 

Verity tries to get Kelly to dish the dirt on the different character traits of musicians around the world whilst he tries to remain diplomatic.

Kelly talks about his solo projects, including a homage of sorts to a much derided album from his childhood... Jimmy Buffett’s "Songs You Know By Heart". One of the tracks is entitled "Cheeseburger in Paradise". Nuff said.

Celebrations are on at Three In a Bar HQ as they reach episode 10, and what better way to mark this milestone than with a chat to Puerto Rico’s finest, Ektor Rivera.

Seb and Verity catch up via zoom with singer/dancer/actor/artist Ektor at his LA home. He earns serious guest points early on declaring his new found love for London, having travelled there for the first time last year to play Juan Peron in Evita at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. 

During their conversation Ektor chats about his time on Broadway, a house visit from J-Lo and returning to Puerto Rico for an exciting new production of ‘In The Heights’, as well as a major solo art exhibition in St Juan.

Seb and Verity delve deep into Ektor’s past, unearthing some excellent anecdotes involving a cassette tape, a Polaroid, Emilio Estefan and some questionable dreadlocks.

This week Seb and Verity have a hotline to Canada to chat to critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Basia Bulat.

Basia talks all about her fantastic new album "Are You in Love?", which was partly recorded at Joshua Tree and led to some integral collaborations with both the wind and desert dust.

They chat improvising at festivals, Bach and Basia indulges Verity’s new found love of the autoharp by demonstrating a few of her favourites.

Towards the end of their conversation, Basia performs the title track from her new album... it’s a stunning rendition and not to be missed.
