Three Men and Milan

Emphatic victories in both the Champions League and Serie A for Milan this week. Both games saw the Rossoneri score 4 times and ensure our pursuit of European football after the world cup and a second straight scudetto remain on track. The great win away in Croatia means Milan need to avoid defeat at home to Salzburg next week to ensure qualification to the round of 16 for the first time in 8 years. Milan struggled to victory against Verona this past Sunday in a performance that left much to be desired, however 3 points on the board when you’re playing badly is the mark of a good team, Milan stay in the hunt for the top of the table and with their rivals all facing difficult tests over the coming weeks let’s hope our League form continues and we will be at the summit once again. Also this week, the worst refereeing decision you’ve probably ever seen (and we mean it this time) and it’s a crunch week with Monza at the San Siro and a trip to Zagreb to keep our hopes of last 16 alive. Milan cruised past Juventus this past weekend to maintain pace at the top of the table in Serie A, beating the Old Lady is always pleasant but on the heels of an abject performance at Stamford Bridge in midweek it was even more sweet. Revenge for that defeat in the Champions League is next as Chelsea travel to the San Siro and Milan travel to Verona to keep their domestic form going this weekend. So, our amazing unbeaten run comes to an end, however a fantastic performance has us wondering how we didn’t collect any points from this clash with Napoli. The week wasn’t all bad for Milan as they picked up their first home victory in the Champions League since 2014 and sit top of the group going into this international break. 3 points but at what cost, Milan limped to a victory at Samp this weekend after Rafa Leao was sent off for a second yellow card, the boys dug deep and made sure of the win but with tired legs going into a double game week hopefully it will have been worth the effort. This week sees the Champions League return to the San Siro with the vist of Dynamo Zagreb and a top of the table clash as Napoli visit before the international break is upon us again. A point away in the Champions League and Derby Day Delight tops off a pretty decent week for the Italian Champions. Milan beat Inter in a truly epic encounter showing off Italian football at its finest. Milan also played well and were unlucky not to take all 3 points away at Salzburg in a breathless encounter. This week sees a trip to Sampdoria on the horizon who have started poorly and currently lie in the bottom 3, Pioli and his boys will be looking for 3 more points. What a difference a matchday makes, from the high of a good performance and victory against Bologna to a drab 0-0 draw away at Sassuolo in the course of the past few days. Milan showed the troubles them have when rotating their best players out of the squad against Sassuolo, but with Inter and the Champions League away day at Salzburg next hopefully it will be a gamble that pays off in the end. A disappointing draw for Milan in matchday 2 away at Atalanta has tempered everyone’s expectations of being able go win the league with 10 games to spare for a few weeks at least. We discuss that performance in Bergamo the impact of the new signings and bench players and lack of impact from some starters, before looking at possible sales in the window and looking ahead to a double game week with Bologna at home on Saturday and away at Sassuolo next Tuesday. Milan is back and they began the new campaign with a thumping win over Udinese in a 4-2 victory. Great performances, new signings given their debuts and three points made for a very good afternoon for the Rossoneri. Serie A action was back in full swing with new signings, fantastic goals and GK calamities all included. This week see Milan travel to face Atalanta hoping to continue their unbeaten start.
