The Coronavirus has been grabbing more attention than anything we’ve ever seen before.

People who study the virus tell us that this is a virus deeper than anything we’ve seen in recent history.

In this podcast episode, I break down the stigmas around the Coronavirus and I discuss the pink elephants related to the numbers social stigmas.

I also break down what is happening in Italy, China, and where the United States is heading if we don’t take proper measures. But these measures may not be exactly what the media is telling you.

Don’t let the fear of this novel disease distract you from what really is keeping you from passing your threshold and being healthy.

Turning a catastrophic event into an incredible organization. Our guest today on Threshold Stories is Triny Willerton.

Sometimes when catastrophic events happen, we become bitter, resentful, and angry. Triny Willerton had a catastrophic event happen to her and she chose a different path. She chose to make a difference.

Triny is the founder of It Could Be Me, a non-profit dedicated to raising awareness for everyone’s safety on the roads and streets around the world.

She tells the story of what happened to her and what her response was.

Triny has made a difference in many peoples lives including taking in ambassadors to help bridge the gap between cyclists and drivers around the globe.

Come along the journey of Caroline Hammock walking the Camino de Santiago. Our guest today on Threshold Stories is Caroline Hammock. 

The Camino is a pilgrimage route that culminates in Northwestern, Spain. It is believed that the remains of the apostle James are buried in Santiago. The route that Caroline walked was the “French Route” which is 500 miles.

In this episode, we discuss what is was like trekking the incredible trails of the Camino. Caroline discusses what it takes to succeed in these travels and things you should consider if you were ever looking to make this trek.

Caroline is also an active member of the Charlotte Area Peace Corps Association.

Taking United States Men’s Triathletes to an elite level. Our guest today on Threshold Stories is Parker Spencer. 

United States Women have been dominant on the World Triathlon stage for many years. However, the men have not enjoyed the same success. Project Podium is the United States’ response to make our men more competitive.

Today on the show we have Parker Spencer, coach for the United States men that are participating in Project Podium at Arizona State University.

Parker has eight athletes who are under his tutelage and he is preparing them to take their spots on the world stage as the US strives to become one of the best in the world at triathlons for men, just as we are for women.

Telling real stories about Afghanistan, Iran, and Somalia. Our guest today on Threshold Stories is Ken Alyta.

Ken’s international career is like something out of a storybook. I consider myself to be well-traveled and culturally astoop yet compared to Ken, I am a rookie at every level.

He lived in Mogadishu, Somalia in the 1960s and Afganastan and Iran in the 1970s. Additional stints in Saudi Arabia, Algeria, and Singapore finally led Ken to a 20-year career at Samsung where he retired in 2004.

Ken is an active member of the Charlotte Area Peace Corps Association.

His incredible cultural knowledge and experiences has us incredibly honored to feature him on this podcast.

Overcoming the battle with breast cancer. Our guest today is Rachel Horne, Community Engagement & Events Coordinator at Girls on the Run of Union County. In this episode, Rachel discusses pushing above her threshold and overcoming medical obstacles. 

Rachel is a graduate of the Core Compassion Project. You may remember the Core Compassion Project from episode one of Threshold Stories with project founder, Jill Hinson. However, her story is not like others involved in this project. You’ll hear Rachel discuss her battle and how she was able to persevere both mentally and physically during her battle.
