The core to our philosophy and bhakti culture is relationships. In order to have good relationships one needs people skills, true. We are people eternally. However, in order to action our people skills, which we need to develop, we need to start first at the root of relationships, which is how we SEE people. The mindset first then action skills. This is the mistake so many people and Devotee is make. The correct perception has to be there in order for us to act out our good people skills. This is a very deep but extremely important point if we are to make advancement individually or collectively

People who are successful and who win in life in what they want to achieve have very specific common characteristics. Here i explain just 3 of the really important characteristics you need to move forward and succeed at anything, not just bhakti.

Self-confidence is so important if we want to be successful with our habits and services in devotional life. It is mentioned in the letter of instruction. However, sometimes we can misunderstand self-confidence and think it is something to do with pride. And we can stand our confidence and therefore remain stock or limited in our service capacity. In our spiritual community we have a great culture of feasting and chanting. But as we progress and mature in Bhakti we have to come to terms with the habits that affects our health long-term. We can't remain immature when it comes to our diet, exercise and overall health. Service to krishna is our life and soul and therefore we want to refine our habits so we can have the best mind and physical machine so we can do the best service to Krishna. When we look at cross our communities we can see many devotees with poor health, posture and overall habits. Especially as the decades tick by we see the compounding effect of eating too much, and a lack of exercise and nutrition. Let's get the base right so we can be productive and then life and even as we get older and older in life.

If we have the wrong road map it doesn't matter how good are techniques are or how positive mindset is. Although these are useful, unless they are applied to the correct map we will not get the end result that we want. This is so applicable to our Bhakti journey.

Hearing about regular habits seem so trivial and a small part of our journey and not as interesting as hearing higher spiritual past times and truths. However, this is a great trap and distraction, because regular habits are the means and the most powerful element to our beginning practices to bring this to higher levels of happiness, peace and spiritual success. How seriously do you understand the importance of regular habits?

Courage is an essential part of our ability to practice Bhakti. It is a quality of the heart and Arjuna was chastised by Krishna for having weakness and therefore he needed to become courageous. Do you have courage? Are you developing courage? Because you are going to need it.

Most people are not successful because they don't understand the subtleties of goals. Having a goal is one thing, but understanding how goals impact your daily life is another. The real power of goalsetting is not necessarily in achieving them, especially in the timeframe that you wanted, but in how they help you better yourself every day
