Paul begins to teach on the Lord's Supper. When the church comes together it is for the Lord's Supper. The Lord's Supper represents fellowship. Fellowship with the Lord and also fellowship with the Body of Christ.

We should not argue over traditions. Paul says there is divisions in the Corinthian church. Those divisions came from factions or heresy.

Paul addresses the tradition of the length of a person's hair. What is long hair? In Paul's time a man's hair was shoulder length. Long hair was considered a to be sign of rebellion. Long hair on a man was waist length. A woman’s hair is her glory. To many in Corinth long hair on a women told you she was married. This was her glory.

A woman should have an authority over her. Her husband or father is her authority. Man is not independent of the woman nor the woman of a man. We need each other in our proper places of authority. The angels know it.

Paul tells us that the glory of God flow through the line of authority. Man was created first and then woman was created as a companion and helper for man.

Paul gives us the chain of authority. God is the head of Christ, Christ is the head of man, man is the head of the woman.

Paul commends the Corinthians for remembering him in everything and for holding firm to the traditions that he taught them. Paul taught traditions. Traditions are needed.

Paul tells us to imitate him as he imitates Christ. This means to do what I do as I do what Christ did and does. Not only in action but also in motive.

Paul sums up the whole teaching on eating meat offered to idols by saying three things. Do everything to the glory of God, give no offense and do not seek your own profit.

Do not seek your own good. Watch that you do not offend your neighbor. Paul gives us practical instruction of how to eat and not what to eat.
