Trauma is not the only thing we share as black women but there is so much joy around us and collectively we embrace that joy in the midst of everything going on around us.
In celebration of Black History month, (which is American History and should be recognized every day) but I digress I wanted to have the episodes this month to be light hearted by sharing affirming the joy, love and passion of black women.
Starting with what brings us joy!
This week I share the top three things that brings us joy as black women.
Episode summed up in a quote/scripture:
“You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.” Isaiah 55:12

Today I interview Toya Gavin of Legally Bold: https://legally-bold.com as she discuss her experience and insight on asking for help.
More women are leaving the traditional workforce to start their own business. Balancing it all takes a village and we have to learn to be vulnerable enough to ask for the support and resources that we need to succeed.

EPISODE NOTES:
Creating something new you want to bring to the marketplace, whether it be a product or service usually comes from a core belief or position you feel strongly about.
If you find yourself saying "someone should do something about..." chances are you are the one who has the answer.
Ideas to create come from your position and have consequences. Make sure your positively impact the people you want to help.
Check out this episode to learn the best way to stand in your position when challenged and when it may be time to evolve.

Episode Notes:
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result but what if you do a new thing and keep getting the same result cause the other piece of the equation has not change.
You are changing but continue to stay in old places with stale and played out rules following the same destructive social constructs will keep you unfulfilled.
All your skills, talent and gifts will not be wasted. If you are being underutilized, then it is time to do a new thing outside of the confines of your corporate office, (especially if they refused to recognize your value).
Episode summed up in this quote: “When a flower doesn’t bloom you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.” Alexander dea Heijer
