This special edition is for anyone looking to jump-start a gluten-free lifestyle and/or for those participating in the Shred 10 program. I have been eating gluten-free since 2015 and want to make the transition as easy as possible for anyone looking to give it a try. The Shred 10 is a program run by my Juice Plus+ partners. Participants are asked to think of 10 habits they would like to add, reduce or eliminate for 10 days. We always recommend eating gluten-free and dairy-free during this program in order to lower inflammation and to regulate ph balance. The goal is to eat real food in its whole form, to maximize your nutrient intake and stimulate your bodies natural cleansing process. While you're detoxing from foods, you might also consider how you are affected by other stressors in your life including the environment, personal care products, relationships, etc.
My Shred 10 usually consists of the following habits:
Drink 64 oz of plain water
Eat more plant and animal protein
Eat 1-2 smoothies per day
Retire to bed 30 minutes earlier than usual and with the goal of sleeping 8 hours per night
Alcohol (I give myself permission to have one (1/2 glass) of wine if I'm socializing with friends during my shred)
Screen time
Interaction with people who tempt me and/or test my patience
Gluten
Dairy
