In the third installment of his weekly Bible study through Malachi, Pastor Brian looks at the priests of the time, who had abandoned their duty to pursue their own success.

Are you living out your purpose? This week’s Bible study in Malachi focuses on the insufficient sacrifices that the Lord did not accept. We as believers bring insufficient sacrifices when we claim to be Christians and don’t live accordingly. Pastor Brian encourages us to return to our true purpose of glorifying God.

Is there hypocrisy in your life? Pastor Brian begins a weekly Bible study in Malachi, describing the Israelites at the time, who were bringing the bare minimum to the table and yet called themselves righteous. When your sin is exposed as theirs was by Malachi, repent and turn back to God.

Pastor Brian brings us to the Book of Ecclesiastes, where King Solomon describes his relatable and futile search for happiness. We must not to put our hope in this world, where it will never be satisfied, but in Christ and what is beyond this life.

With the everything that goes on in life, it’s so easy to be distracted from what actually matters. Pastor Brian points us to the example of Peter in Matthew 14, who took his eyes off of Jesus amidst a swirling sea.

True Christians should walk in humility, though it’s not part of our human nature. Pastor Brian points us to Philippians 2, where we see Christ as our example of true humility.

Pastor Brian challenges us to evaluate what drives us. Instead of allowing our thoughts or feelings to control us, we should meditate on what we know to be true until those truths permeate our thoughts and feelings. God is good, He does good, and He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing (Eph 1:3).

Pastor Brian opens the Word to Ephesians 1, discussing the innumerable blessings we have in Christ. Even in times that seem bleak, there is something to praise Him for.
