Episode 25 - The Ugly Baby problem
A colleague I hadn’t spoken to in 10 years got on a call with me and said:
“Have you seen yourself in those videos?”
No hello. No warm-up.
Then came the feedback:
Bad lighting. Bad editing. Not professional enough.
I defended it immediately.
“Raw is the point.”
But here’s the uncomfortable part.
She wasn’t the first person to say it.
My mom said it.
My husband said it.
I ignored both.
But hearing the same feedback from someone with no agenda finally made it land.
And that’s when I realized:
Sometimes we don’t reject feedback.
We reject the source.
Leaders do this constantly.
We fall in love with our process, our style, our product, so much that we stop seeing it clearly.
The “ugly baby problem.”
Somewhere along the way, I had confused authenticity with the absence of effort.
But raw and careless are not the same thing.
You can be authentic and still improve the experience.
That applies to content.
And it applies to leadership too.
So here’s your Micro Boost:
What’s one piece of feedback you keep hearing… but keep explaining away?
Maybe people aren’t attacking the thing you built.
Maybe they’re trying to help it grow.
Small actions. Big impact.

Episode 24 - The most dangerous outages start as “Small, Safe Projects”
This weekend we accidentally cut my neighbor’s internet.
Not metaphorically.
Literally.
My husband and I rented a motorized tiller to place stepping stones in our yard.
Ten minutes in, the machine caught something.
We stopped.
Looked down.
A cable.
Cut clean through.
Our internet was fine.
But our neighbor’s wasn’t.
And that’s when it hit me.
We thought we were doing a small project.
No risk.
No dependencies.
But there was a cable we didn’t know existed.
And I realized something.
This happens in technology projects all the time.
A team ships a small patch.
A config change.
A minor release.
And suddenly something breaks downstream.
Not because anyone was careless.
But because there was a dependency nobody saw.
And here’s the part that stuck with me.
If we had dug by hand…
we would have felt the cable.
But we used a machine.
Fast.
Efficient.
Powerful.
And speed without awareness doesn’t prevent problems.
It accelerates straight through them.
So here’s your Micro Boost for today.
Before your next release, ask one question:
What’s the cable nobody told us about?
Because small actions can have bigger impact than we think.
Small actions. Big impact.

Episode23 – Bond is thicker than Blood
Today I’m recording this episode in a very special place.
Right next to the lilies growing where we buried my eldest German Shepherd - Dexter.
This weekend is Dexter’s birthday and all the lilies have bloomed
He would have turned ten today.
For a moment it felt like he was saying hello again.
Dexter was our German Shepherd.
Nine years of unconditional love.
And over time I realized something he understood better than me.
Bond is thicker than blood.
We grow up hearing the phrase “blood is thicker than water.”
But life teaches something different.
Some people we expect to stay… don’t.
And some people who owe us nothing show up again and again.
When I went through cancer, surgery, chemo, radiation, that difference became very clear.
Some people disappeared.
Others stepped forward.
And Dexter, who never left my side.
He couldn’t solve anything.
But he stayed.
And that’s what bond really means.
Not obligation.
Not history.
Choice.
And seeing these lilies bloom today reminded me of something.
The bonds we build in life don’t disappear.
Sometimes they just grow roots and bloom in unexpected ways.
So here’s your Micro Boost for this week.
Reach out to someone who represents bond in your life.
Tell them:
“I’m glad you chose me. And I choose you back.”
Small actions. Big impact!
And happy birthday, Dexter.

Episode 22 - The movie didn't change. I did
Let me tell you something interesting that happened recently.
I rewatched a movie I loved as a teenager.
Back then, I thought the main character was bold, rebellious, inspiring.
But watching it again years later… I had a completely different reaction.
I kept thinking:
“Why is this person behaving like this?”
And then I realized something.
The movie didn’t change.
I did.
As a teenager, I was watching from the seat of possibility.
But today I'm watching from the seat of responsibility.
And once I noticed that, I started seeing it everywhere.
Just this weekend both my daughters came home with their boyfriends.
We had a barbecue, played volleyball, laughed a lot.
And suddenly I realized…
I used to be the one coming home.
Now I’m the one standing at the grill making sure everyone else has what they need.
Same person.
Different seat.
Then it happened again at work.
I met a young AI engineer who was incredibly sharp.
Afterwards I called my former manager and told him how impressed I was.
He laughed and said:
“That’s how generations keep moving.”
And it hit me.
There was a time when someone was saying that about me.
We don’t change overnight.
We just slowly move seats.
From student to mentor.
From rebel to parent.
From new hire to hiring manager.
And that shift changes how we see everything.
So here’s your Micro Boost for this week.
Before making your next decision…
Ask yourself:
Whose seat am I designing this from?
Because sometimes moving just one row forward changes everything you see.
Small actions. Big impact.

Episode21 - 21 Weeks, 21 Lessons, One Decision
Today is Episode 21, and this one feels special.
Twenty-one weeks ago, I ran a small experiment.
People say if you do something 21 times, it becomes a habit.
So I decided to show up every Thursday.
One blog.
One podcast.
One LinkedIn post.
No matter what the week looked like.
And somewhere around week ten, something shifted.
I stopped thinking of myself as someone who has ideas…
and started seeing myself as someone who builds things.
But before anything else, I need to thank one person, Ganesh Joshi Regmi.
When I had this idea, I had no clue where to start.
Podcast tools, platforms, recording… nothing.
Ganesh gave me 15 minutes of guidance that saved me hours of trial and error.
This series exists because of that conversation.
And over these 21 weeks, something unexpected happened.
Builders, leaders, and technologists started reaching out.
Which made me realize, this wasn’t just a content series anymore.
It was the start of a community.
So today, I’m launching ImpactBoostX, a community of technologists and leaders who believe technology should create real impact for businesses, people, and society.
Here’s your micro boost for today:
Impact doesn’t check your title, age, gender, or background.
Anyone can create it.
All it takes is the willingness to start. If you want to join the community, please submit the form here - https://impactboostx.com/community
Small actions. Big impact.

Episode 20 - Don’t let the Small Problem become the Big One
Today I want to tell you about Misty and Dexter.
Dexter was our German Shepherd.
He got very sick.
And for months, every ounce of attention in our house went to him.
Vet visits.
Late nights.
Constant care.
Because he was the one clearly suffering.
Our younger one, Misty, seemed fine.
She’s strong. Quiet. physically Independent.
But while Dexter was fighting, I noticed something.
Misty moved a little slower.
She slept more.
And I told myself: she’s fine.
We had a bigger problem.
Dexter eventually passed away.
And that evening, we took Misty for a walk.
She came back limping.
Next day we took her for The X-ray and it showed a torn ACL.
Not from an accident.
From months of gradual degradation while I was looking the other way.
That moment taught me something I now see in every organization.
There’s always a Dexter, the loud crisis demanding everyone’s attention.
And somewhere in the background there’s a Misty, the strong system, the reliable teammate, the quiet process nobody checks anymore.
We assume the strong ones will manage.
But strength isn’t invincibility.
Sometimes it just means they hide the pain longer.
So here’s your Micro Boost for today:
Take five minutes this week and ask yourself:
What’s the “strong” thing I haven’t checked on in a while?
Because the problems that hurt the most are rarely the ones you were watching.
They’re the ones you assumed were fine.
Small actions. Big impact!

Episode 19 - The Tree I Almost returned
We spent three months researching the perfect tree for our backyard.
Fruit tree or maple?
Flowering or evergreen?
My husband even made spreadsheets.
We visited nurseries, read reviews, debated everything.
And after all that?
Still no decision.
Then one afternoon we were at Costco with our daughter and her friend.
And there it was a green Japanese maple.
We looked at each other…
and bought it in 30 seconds.
The tree barely fit in the car.
Half of it was sticking out of the moonroof while the rest of us held the branches.
The wind kept blowing it around and everyone was laughing the whole way home.
When we planted it later, I had a moment of doubt.
No flowers. No fruit.
Was this the right tree?
Then I remembered that car ride.
The laughter. The chaos. The memory we created bringing it home.
And I realized something.
At work, we often over-optimize decisions.
Frameworks. Comparisons. Endless analysis.
But the decisions people truly commit to are the ones they build together.
Because people don’t just commit to decisions.
They commit to experiences.
So if your team is stuck analyzing something right now…
maybe it’s time to stop debating…
and just plant the tree.
Small actions. Big impact.

Episode 18 - Show me your Network. I’ll show you your Future
Couple of months ago, I couldn’t clearly explain what I did for a living.
Not to my daughters.
Not to my mom.
Some days… not even to myself.
I was good at my job. I was busy.
And yet, professionally, I felt like I was on an island.
I had hundreds of LinkedIn connections… but almost no real conversations.
Then something unexpected happened.
I started Thursday Think Bites.
And slowly, my network started to come alive.
A coffee with a former colleague that reshaped how I think about content.
A connection that introduced me to a Guinness World Record holder who completely changed how I think about constraints.
Conversations with founders, CTOs, and leaders building things I had never considered before.
I wasn’t trying to reinvent my career.
But my network was quietly expanding my thinking.
And that’s when I realized something powerful:
Your network isn’t just a list of contacts.
It’s a trajectory.
The people around you influence what you think is possible.
Six months ago I was worried AI might replace parts of my job.
Today I’m thinking about how it amplifies my impact.
Same person.
Different conversations.
Different trajectory.
Here’s your micro-boost for today.
Open your LinkedIn connections and find one person you haven’t spoken to in a year.
Someone thoughtful. Someone interesting. Someone building something.
Send them a simple message:
"I was thinking about you. What are you working on these days?"
Because careers rarely change overnight.
They change one conversation at a time.
Show me your network.
And I’ll show you your future.
Small actions. Big impact.

Episode 17 - The Thankless Leader
Today’s episode is a little different.
I’m actually recording this in one of the common spaces within our community close to our community pool.
It’s a beautiful space. Clean water. Well-maintained seating areas. Trimmed trees. A really peaceful place for families to gather.
And as I was sitting here, I realized something.
More than 100 families in this community get to enjoy this space.
Kids swim here.
Families relax here.
Neighbors gather here.
But very few people think about why it stays this way.
This pool stays clean.
The landscaping stays maintained.
The common spaces stay organized.
Because there are five volunteers in this community who quietly take responsibility for it.
Five people coordinating with vendors.
Five people handling complaints.
Five people making sure the contractors show up.
Five people solving problems that most residents never even hear about.
And here’s the thing.
They don’t get paid.
They don’t get recognized.
Most of the time, the only messages they receive are complaints.
And yet they continue doing it.
Because they care about protecting this community for everyone who lives here.
One of those five volunteers is my husband.
And today’s episode is special because today is his birthday.
So I wanted to say something publicly.
Thank you.
You didn’t have to take on this responsibility.
But you did.
And because of that, more than a hundred families get to enjoy spaces like this every day.
I’m proud of you.
And happy birthday.
This experience also reminded me of something bigger.
We take so many things for granted in our lives.
Clean shared spaces.
Well-run teams.
Smooth-running projects.
But often those privileges exist because someone else is quietly doing the invisible work to keep them that way.
And we rarely stop to acknowledge them.
So here’s your Micro Boost for today.
Think about someone in your life who’s quietly holding things together.
At work.
At home.
In your community.
And just tell them:
“I see what you’re doing. Thank you.”
Because sometimes the people doing the most important work are the ones nobody notices.
Small actions. Big impact.

Episode 16 - You don’t need more motivation. You need your song back.
An old song came on shuffle this week.
I hadn’t heard it in 20 years.
But instantly… something shifted.
I felt more focused.
More energized.
More like myself.
So I played it again. And again.
For two days straight.
And during those two days?
I was on.
It felt like I discovered a new source of energy.
But I just reconnected to an old one.
We all have this.
A version of ourselves where everything clicks -
clear thinking, high energy, real momentum.
I call it your Uptime Zone.
And we don’t lose it.
We just drift away from it.
So here’s your micro boost:
Think about the last time you felt truly the Uptime zone.
What were you doing then…
that you’re not doing now?
Bring back just one.
Because you don’t need to become someone new.
You just need to return to someone you’ve already been.
