Episode15 - Your Pantry is lying to you (And so is your Roadmap)
I found three bags of walnuts in my pantry this week.
Not one.
Not two.
Three.
Which wouldn’t be strange… except I kept buying more because the jar on my shelf looked empty.
The real stock?
Hidden in a box behind everything else, a box I had stopped checking.
And the cashews?
Almost gone.
Same pantry.
Completely different reality depending on where I looked.
And it hit me, this is exactly how we build roadmaps.
We focus on what’s visible.
Sprint boards.
Roadmap decks.
Dashboards.
But every team also has a hidden box.
Backlog items parked months ago.
Technical debt nobody revisits.
Half-finished initiatives.
Risks sitting quietly in a spreadsheet.
We assume it’s handled.
We assume it will surface.
And then we keep building.
We keep buying walnuts.
Until one day, someone opens the box…
And the roadmap we were confident about suddenly doesn’t make sense.
Because it was built on half the picture.
A roadmap based only on what’s visible?
That’s not a roadmap.
It’s a guess with good formatting.
So here’s your micro boost this week:
Open the hidden box.
Because you can’t make good decisions…
with partial visibility.
Small actions. Big impact!

Episode14 - The Doctors had the Expertise. I had the Experience.
Four years ago, on this day, I was diagnosed with Brest Cancer. Thanks to all the expertise of the doctors who saved my life.
During the journey, I had to make so many choices between options like mastectomy versus lumpectomy, drug A versus drug B, 2D scanning versus 3D scanning. While the doctors were using all their expertise to choose the right treatment plan for me, I was choosing the future experience of my everyday life.
Every option carried risks. Every choice I made was a trade-off between the probability of recurrence and the future quality of my life.
That's when I realized we built so many solutions for our customers and users. And we make so many decisions, choices every day based on our expertise.
While our expertise helps us make those decisions efficiently, it's the customer experience, user experience that tells us whether we are building the right solutions or not and solving the right problems.
Here's the microboost for you today.
What are the decisions or choices you're about to make for your customers and users this week?
Along with your expertise, are you considering the customer experience and the user experience?
Because expertise without experience is cold.
Experience without expertise is dangerous.
So hope you make your decisions and choices using both of them.
And if there’s one more thing I’d add today, it’s this:
Early detection saves lives.
My journey started with a routine screening, something I almost postponed.
If you’ve been putting off a check-up or a screening, consider this your reminder.
Take care of yourself.
Small actions. Big impact.

Episode 13 - We are not One Color. We are the Whole Festival. Happy Holi!
Yesterday was Holi, the Festival of Colors.
And it made me realize something.
We are not one color.
In a single day, I can be decisive in a boardroom, warm at home, strategic on a call, and playful with friends.
Same person. Different energy.
For me, the switch happens instantly.
But for the people around me?
They’re still adjusting to the previous version.
And that’s the leadership blind spot.
We assume that because we’ve shifted… the room has too.
The best leaders don’t reduce their range.
They signal it.
They say, “Let’s move into decision mode.”
Or “I’m switching hats here.”
One sentence.
That’s it.
Range is power.
Un-signaled range is confusion.
So this week, notice your colors.
And before you shift, signal it.
You’re not inconsistent. You’re multidimensional.
And leadership isn’t about picking one shade.
It’s about owning the full spectrum.
Small actions. Big impact.

Episode 12: The Passion vs Duty - It's not the Hours, It's the Ownership
A few months ago, I was complaining to a friend about being too busy.
He said something that stopped me: "Prashanthi, you're always working. Weekends. Late nights. But I don't think it's your boss or your job. You volunteer for everything. It's not your boss keeping you busy. It's you."
He was right.
Here's what I realized: Same 60-hour week. Completely different experience.
When I CHOOSE the work, like Thursday Think Bites, I'm energized.
When I'm ASSIGNED the same work, I'm exhausted.
The hours don't matter. The ownership does.
This isn't about me. This is human nature.
We don't burn out because we're busy. We burn out because we're executing someone else's vision with no say in how or why.
The solution isn't less work. It's more ownership.
This week's micro boost:
Think about when you complain about being busy versus when you celebrate being busy.
What's the difference? Is it the hours or the ownership?
Then ask: How can you bring more ownership into your current work?
When work feels like passion, busy doesn't feel like burnout. It feels like purpose.

Episode11 - I Said “Send Me an Email” I Lied
I have 100 unread emails that all started with a lie.
The lie? “Send me an email. I will respond back to you”
My usual response to a vendor, recruiter, or cold caller who caught me mid-meeting.
Not because I’m rude.
Not because I don’t care.
Because “send me an email” was never a solution.
It was a polite escape.
Listen to the podcast - how my pile of guilt led to my Friday experiment.
Small shift. Huge relief.
No more pretending.
No more ghosting.
No more growing guilt pile.
Just clear boundaries and real access.
If you’re a leader, ask yourself:
Are you actually accessible?
Or are you handing people a black hole and calling it an inbox?

Episode 10 - Leaders Aren't Superheroes. Their Teams Are Their JARVIS.
Everyone wants their leader to be Iron Man.
Decisive. Fast. Visionary.
But here’s the uncomfortable truth: Most leaders aren’t slow. They’re overloaded.
We send: 47 metrics, 12 views, Beautiful dashboards
And then wonder why decisions take forever.
Iron Man isn’t powerful because of the suit. He’s powerful because of JARVIS.
He gets filtered, prioritized and clear intel to translate reality into action.
Leaders cannot be superheroes, if their teams cannot be their JARVIS.
This week's micro boost: Pick one report you send to leadership. Ask yourself: Can they understand it in 30 seconds? Does it answer the four questions: Plan, Accomplishments, Risks, Next Steps? Or did you over-engineer it?
This week, simplify one report. Strip away the fancy graphs. Get back to the four questions. Your leader doesn't need to be impressed. They need to act. And they can't act if they can't understand.

Episode 9 - The Friday Shirt (What We Miss When We Don’t Ask)
Last weekend, it snowed. I stood in my backyard wearing my Friday shirt with Misty and Knox at Dexter's grave. And I realized: This shirt will probably die with me. Not because of it's value, but because of what it represents.
For the past 6 years, I wore this "ridiculous" shirt every Friday at work and home. Colleagues laughed. My husband chuckled. Most people probably thought, “She really likes that shirt.” They were wrong. It wasn’t a fashion choice. It was a consistency choice. A grounding ritual.
A quiet reminder of why I show up. It's not just a shirt. It's the timeline of my life.
Then my hamster taught me something about assumptions: I thought he was playing when he bit my finger. He was actually asking for a carrot. How often do we do this with people?
We assume. We judge. We miss the real story.
Most behavior is communication. We just don’t always ask what it’s trying to say.
This week’s Thursday Think Bite is about:
-The meaning behind small rituals
-What assumptions cost us
-And why curiosity is one of the most underrated leadership skills
What’s your “Friday Shirt”?
The ritual, habit, or object that looks small, but means everything.
If you’re open to sharing, I’d love to hear it.
Your micro boost: This week, instead of assuming why someone does something, ask. "What's the story there?" The answer might surprise you.

Episode 8 - Two Months In: What Starting Imperfect Actually Taught Me
Eight weeks ago, I launched Thursday Think Bites with terrible lighting and zero episodes ready. Today, Episode 8. Here's what continuous improvement actually looks like, not perfection, just progress. The podcast evolved, but I evolved more. From isolation to connection. From confusion to clarity. Thursday Think Bites became a platform for rediscovering myself publicly.
Your micro boost: What could YOU improve in 8 weeks if you started today? Week 1: Start terrible. Week 8: Celebrate progress. You won't recognize your Week 1 self, but only if you actually start.

#PickKickStick Results: Why My Husband Crushed It and I Designed Burnout
Three weeks ago, my husband and I did the same New Year challenge: #PickKickStick.
Same excuse. Different metrics. Wildly different outcomes.
Here’s what surprised me: He crushed it. I designed burnout.
This isn’t about working harder. It’s about how the wrong metric quietly programs the wrong behavior.
Metrics don’t measure behavior.
The metric IS the instruction to create the behavior
Question for leaders:
What behavior do you actually need right now?
And more importantly:
What metric is currently programming the opposite?

I’m breaking my own podcast rule today. And I’m not sorry.
My commitment with Thursday Think Bites is simple: Less than than 2-3 min Micro boosts, not marathons.
But then I talked to Sparsh Shah.
Twenty-two years old. Born with brittle bone disease, bones so fragile a handshake could break them. 150 fractures. 8 rods and 22 screws in his body.
And yet: He's performed for 2 BILLION people. Set a Guinness World Record. Raised over $4 million for charity. Created an entirely new music genre.
But here's what made me break my rule:
Our conversation wasn't just ONE micro boost. It was an entire vault of perspective.
Sparsh said: "Your story is the one world record nobody can break."
He explained: "Every limitation is freedom in disguise."
He admitted he was a "lazy glutton" before his transformation, and built to a world record by starting with just 30 seconds and adding a little bit every day.
This wisdom couldn't fit in 60 seconds without losing its power.
So I'm publishing our FULL conversation today, to preserve its authenticity, its integrity, and the natural flow of profound insights.
Over the coming weeks, I'll extract individual insights and create proper micro boosts from them. But first, I want you to hear the complete story. To discover which insights resonate most with YOU.
Consider this your bonus episode: A bundle of micro boosts wrapped in one authentic conversation.
Sparsh is the son of my colleague, proof that the wisdom we seek is often in our network, waiting to be unlocked.
Ready? Let's dive in.
