Hey, everyone! I'm Charlie, and this is "Charlie doesn't like chocolate"—a podcast about my life as an international student in Canada. I'll be posting 3 times a week just to improve my English. I hope you enjoy listening!
As some of you might notice, today I renewed the introduction of my podcast.
This is because my dear friend introduced me to an innovative service that corrects my writing called “Copy.ai”. They use a very accurate AI which understands correctly what I want to say and provides me with fixed sentences. It is extremely useful so that i recommend it if you are interested in writing or speaking English like native people. Anyways, thanks my dear friend as usual.
Today I learned about Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for about 2 hours because I knew she died on September 8th, aged 96. The reason why I looked up to her is Canada's head of state is Queen Elizabeth and as I mentioned in Episode 1, I really love playing in Queen Elizabeth park. Even though I was surprised she was in charge of her role for almost 7 decades and she had gotten it when she was just 26 years old,
The most interesting thing about her in my study was that she loves horse racing, called 競馬 in Japanese.
In England, the birthplace of modern horse racing, monarchs have often patronized and developed horse racing. Queen Elizabeth II is an avid patron of horse racing, and in 1954 and 1957 she was the leading owner of horses in the United Kingdom.
To be honest, I laughed when I imagined her at the Tokyo Racecourse with a bunch of toothless people, predicting the winning horse, grumpy from losing a ridiculous amount of money and feeling reluctant to return to her official duties. Sorry about that, and Rest in peace.
