In our 2023-2024 chapel series, we have arrived at Genesis 3, and, suddenly, a new character appears: "the serpent." We set out in this chapel message to understand what the Bible teaches us about this adversary and the hope we have for his ultimate demise through the power of Jesus Christ.

In God's providence, secondary chapel happened to fall on Valentine's Day just after we examined the institution of marriage in Genesis 2. Accordingly, our school administrator, Jeff Abbett, along with his wife Jane, gave a special chapel message on a biblical view of love, what believers should look for in a future spouse, and how to cultivate a marriage that lasts.

We are back at it in Genesis 1-3 for the Spring 2024 semester! This week, we analyzed the story of the creation of woman in Genesis 2:18-25 and discovered five biblical principles for our lives about manhood, womanhood, and the way men and women are to relate to one another.

In honor of Spirit Week, we had a special chapel service on Wednesday, 01/10/2024, wherein Mr. Hunter shared a challenge to the student body and secondary faculty from Philippians 1:18b-26.

In the final message from our Foundations series for the 2023 Fall semester, we analyzed what Genesis 2 has to tell us about the initial home of the first man - the Garden of Eden - and the command given to the man in the garden: to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. We then drew some basic principles from the text for our lives that pointed us to our need for a Second Adam.

In our second Biblical Worldview Panel Discussion of the 2023-2024 school year, we continued our analysis of a biblical view of work by discussing the entitlement culture we all live in and then thinking through how Christians ought to live in whatever career path the Lord brings them into. Pastor Rich Brown (an elder at Timberlake Baptist Church), Chet Walker (recurring TCS guest and seminary student at The Expositors Seminary), and our very own Marc Werner joined us for this special secondary chapel service.

Right in the middle of Genesis 2, we come face-to-face with a very counter-cultural reality: work is a good thing. In the sixth message of our "Foundations" series from Genesis 1-3, we discussed the nature of work, the danger of the sluggish life, and the way followers of Jesus should undertake their work.

In Genesis 2:1-3, we are told that God rested on the seventh day after finishing His work in creation. In the fifth message of our "Foundations" series, we launched from this text into a journey across the Bible to learn about the importance of rest within the biblical worldview.

Who are we? In many ways, it seems that mankind has forgotten the answer to this question. Thankfully, though, the Bible provides immense clarity in response to our cultural confusion. In this fourth message of our secondary chapel series on Genesis 1-3, we observed five facts about humankind from Genesis 1:26-28.

In our first Biblical Worldview Panel Discussion of the 2023-2024 school year, we set out to analyze how accepting various aspects of evolutionary theory might impact other areas of the Christian faith. Paleontologist and geologist Dr. Marcus Ross, Timberlake Baptist Church youth director Michael Duncan, and our very own science teacher Nathan Hill joined us for this special secondary chapel service.
