For our third Biblical Worldview Panel Discussion of the year, we did something a little different - we invited a group of students to form our panel! Following an introduction from Mr. Hunter out of Galatians 1:10, these students helped us think through how we can develop a culture at TCS wherein our students point each other to things that matter. What is your response to the Bible? Be honest. Have you gotten bored of God's Word? // For this year's 'Spirit Chapel' (a special chapel service in the middle of our annual 'Spirit Week'), we turned our attention to 2 Chronicles 34 and the story of King Josiah, and we observed Josiah's actions when a book was found in the temple. "You sum up the whole of New Testament teaching in a single phrase, if you speak of it as a revelation of the Fatherhood of the holy Creator." - J. I. Packer* // In our last message from the Sermon on the Mount before Christmas break, we dove into a part of the sermon commonly known as "The Lord's Prayer." We learned that Jesus is not only showing us how to pray in this passage - He is giving us a glimpse into what life is like with God as your Father.

I'm sure you've heard the phrase, "Christianity is not a religion, it's a relationship." Have you ever considered that idea critically? That is to say - is "religion" really a bad thing? // In this next section of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus explains what the religious activity of the citizens of His kingdom must be like, and, in so doing, Jesus shows us what the real danger is: hypocrisy.

We held our second Biblical Worldview Panel Discussion of the year on the day after the 2024 presidential election - as you can imagine, there was a lot to talk about. For this special secondary chapel, we brought in three guests (Pastor Clay Mackie, Fred Heppding, & Ryan Vohringer) to help our students think through all that is going on in our government from a biblical perspective. How do followers of Jesus relate to the Old Testament? Do the laws and commandments of the Old Testament really matter for us today? // In this very important part of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus clarifies the relationship of His kingdom to the Old Testament, which leads to an explanation of the standard required to get into Jesus' kingdom: nothing less than absolute perfection.

How are Christians supposed to interact with the world around us? What is our function as followers of Jesus in this fallen world? // In Matthew 5:13-16, Jesus explains the relationship between the citizens of His already-not-yet kingdom and the world: we are to be salt and light. In the third message of our 2024-2025 chapel series, we broke down these two word pictures from Jesus and drew out practical applications for our lives.

What sort of person should we aspire to be? Or, to put it another way, what sort of person is "blessed?" // In this second message of our 2024-2025 chapel series, we walked through Jesus' answer to this question in His description of the citizens of His kingdom at the beginning of the Sermon on the Mount. And to put it frankly, this passage - the Beatitudes - paints a radically different picture than what the world so often thinks.

The Sermon on the Mount a radical passage! Simply put, this is Jesus' "kingdom manifesto." // In the first message of our 2024-2025 secondary chapel series on Matthew 5-7, our campus pastor, Jacob Hunter, introduced the main idea of this sermon from Jesus, read through the entirety of the passage, and shared three guiding principles for our study this year.

In our first secondary chapel of the 2024-2025 school year, our school administrator, Dr. Jeff Abbett, gave an opening charge to the students. Mr. Abbett took time to introduce himself and his vision for our school, and he challenged our students to overcome the low expectations that modern society so often places upon them.
