Welcome to Time for Cherry Pie and Coffee, a podcast all about Twin Peaks. We have returned to the water and the well of Lynch/Frost's surreal vision to discuss some of the themes and ideas that have resonated with us in the months since The Return hit our screens. Each episode will use the given title of each 'part' of season 3 as a jumping-off point, starting with My Log has a Message for You.
In this, our first of a new 18-episode podcast run, we'll be discussing the symbolism of trees and forests within the show, and their link to doubles, doppelgangers and tulpas, by way of the recurring image of a telegraph pole. Be Seeing You... in the trees.

Join us as we talk all about The Shapeshifting Detective, the latest FMV game from D'Avekki Studios, with the brains behind the game, Tim and Lynda Cowles. The Shapeshifting Detective places you in the shoes of 'Sam', a being with the ability to morph into anyone they meet, on the trail of a murderer in the mysterious town of August. A trio of tarot readers seem to have predicted the murder before it happened. But why are they here? And who in this strange town can be trusted, when everyone is hiding a secret?
We're also joined by two of the wonderful cast members of the game, Anarosa De Eizaguirre Butler who plays Bronwyn Castle, the leader of the tarot readers, and Rupert Booth, who plays local police chief Dupont, to discuss what it's like acting in FMV games.

The Tally Ho welcomes you to The Village as we continue our journey through classic TV series The Prisoner. In this follow-up to our discussion about Once Upon A Time, we talk to documentary filmmaker and writer Chris Rodley about this classic episode, the gladiatorial battle of wits between Patrick McGoohan and Leo McKern, and why this is his favourite piece of television. We also discuss how it leads in to the finale Fall Out and the impact that these two episodes had on the television landscape. There are significant SPOILERS for Fall Out for those who have not yet seen the finale!
Chris made the wonderful documentary film In My Mind about Patrick McGoohan and The Prisoner. The film chronicles Chris' interviews in 1983 with McGoohan for the now unavailable Channel 4 documentary Six Into One: The Prisoner File, made in anticipation of the high profile re-run of the series on the channel in 1984. The interviews were derailed by technical hiccups, an inexperienced crew and a subject who was notoriously hard to pin down, and indeed tried to take control of the production. Revisiting the original footage in 2017 for the show's 50th anniversary, In My Mind is filled with previously unseen footage from these inteviews and provides a startling insight into the elusive McGoohan.
You can also check out our previous interview with Chris about In My Mind in our podcast from earlier this year. Be seeing you!

The Tally Ho welcomes you to The Village as we continue our journey through classic TV series The Prisoner. In this episode we look at Once Upon A Time, the sixteenth episode of The Prisoner. Number 6 (Patrick McGoohan) and Number 2 (Leo McKern) enter the 'Embryo Room' to undergo Degree Absolute, a seven-day experimental process in which Number 6 is regressed to a childlike state and Number 2 takes on the roles of authority figures throughout his life. As the days and nights pass, the balance of power between the two men shifts and they are both pushed to psychological breaking point. Join us as we discuss this truly remarkable episode which combines elements of the Theatre of the Absurd and psychoanalysis to explore the lengths that Number 2 is willing to go to in order to break Number 6 and the risks that the Village will take to finally find out why he resigned. And stay tuned for the news from the world of The Prisoner from Rick Davy of The Unmutual. Be seeing you!

The Tally Ho welcomes you to The Village as we continue our journey through classic TV series The Prisoner. In this episode we look at The Girl who was Death, the fifteenth episode of The Prisoner. In this comic caper, Number 6 spins a tall tale about a suave spy on the search for Schnipps (Kenneth Griffiths), a mad scientist with a Napoleon fixation who is intent on destroying London. The mysterious Mr X soon draws the attention of Sonia (Justine Lord), Schnipps' daughter, a glamorous psychopath who leaves a trail of deadly clues for her adversary to follow. All is not as it seems in this surreal and quick-witted instalment of The Prisoner. Join us as we discuss the many nods to classic spy-fi of the era that are packed into the show, the blink-and-you'll-miss-it prop cameo from another British series, and exactly where Sonia's incredible quick change wardrobe is hiding in all the madness.
We are then joined once again by Rob Fairclough to discuss why The Girl who was Death is one of his favourite episodes! Be seeing you!
