In this episode of The Captain's America: Third Watch with Matt Bruce, we discuss issues surrounding the recent train derailment in Pennsylvania, calling on our past as firefighters and how we were trained to respond to HazMat incidents and how the hierarchy of the Emergency Services functions during an event like that.

One of the things that I point out is the inanity of how our legislative bills are named.

If you look at the “infrastructure bill” that was passed by the Biden Administration – to the tune of trillions of dollars when he first got into office – you would think that our infrastructure, after spending that much money, would be solid. But the derailment in Pennsylvania, a subsequent derailment outside of Detroit, and another down South have proved that our railway systems, even though the federal government keeps pumping money into it and we have infrastructure projects earmarked for it, never get the maintenance it needs to have done.

Trillions of dollars into a bill packed with special interest sidecars, special interest projects that have nothing to do with infrastructure, and loaded with this bullshit that is Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and CRT and every other ideological and politically based element that has nothing to do with maintaining the infrastructure of the United States. That kind of crap has to stop!

But the only way it will stop is if you get active with the people that you elect to office.

And by the way, we should be sending people to office who are worthy to hold the office not just the next person in line. That's the cancer of the two-party political system.

Once you reach the federal level, you get into a queue. And when your turn is here, your turn is here. A perfect example is Mitch McConnell. He’s useless as tits on a bull, yet he is the minority leader…the majority leader…then the minority leader and all he does is make sure that he spends his PAC money to maintain his own power.

He's an embarrassment to the Republican party and he's a perfect example of why we shouldn't be electing the next in line to positions of power.

Say what you want to about Nikki Haley, but she hit on something that was very important. It is time for generational change in the hierarchy of the political system here in the United States.

The old, connected, establishments, swamp guard has had its time and they've led us to this moment in time; a time where we are more divided – possibly than since the Civil War – and where the United States is less respected around the world than at any other time.

It's time to flush the toilet that is the swamp.
