Dr. Art Shaffer is a Staff Scientist in the Lymphoid Malignancies Branch, National Cancer Institute, at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) where he and many other researchers are working tirelessly to find the cure for the 400+ diagnosed cancers.  He’s currently working to find a cure for Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma. Art has worked at NIH for almost 20 years and says he wakes up every day grateful and excited to go to work. Art did his undergraduate studies at the University of Delaware where he got a BA in Biology.  Eventually he signed up for graduate school at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine to pursue his PhD. Brock Silvers is Managing Director at Kaiyuan Capital, a private equity investment firm in Shanghai, China. Previously, Brock served as the CEO of Laris Group, as well as Managing Director of Kaiyuan Investment Advisory. Additionally, Brock was a co-Founding Partner at Power Pacific Company and he served as Director of International Development for Eagle Industries. Brock earned an M.B.A. in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, an M.A. in International Studies (Chinese Language & Culture) from the Lauder Institute of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in Chinese Studies from Columbia University.

Arborist Matthew Barker puts his expertise and passion into practice in his position as an arborist for the city of Alexandria, Virginia. His days include examining trees and assessing their health and well being, as well as planning strategic tree plantings that maximize the human health and wellness benefits of each tree planted in one of the most densely populated cities in America. Prior to his position in Alexandria, Matthew worked in the tree care division of the Architect of the Capitol, helping to oversee about 4,000 trees in the Capitol Hill area, including nationally recognized memorial trees.

Despite being a self-proclaimed ‘theater snob’, Scott’s acting chops eventually led him to various roles on the big screen, playing characters such as Dr. Douglas Filmore in the hit procedural drama Bones. However, Scott is perhaps best known for his role as Ted Schmidt in the television drama Queer as Folk, a series following the lives of five gay men living in Pennsylvania. Since starring in the series, Scott has since made a return to theater, performing in various roles in the Broadway revival of The Elephant Man in 2014.
