Hello and welcome to the Doorstep Mixtape Podcast!
Between 2017 and 2020, I hosted a weekly radio show which showcased the very best local musicians from the Northwest of England. Each week a special guest would discuss their process of making music and then play some live songs in the studio. Looking back on the wonderful time I had on the show, I couldn’t let these interviews gather dust.
So over the coming weeks I am going to be delving into the archive to bring you some of my favourite interviews and live performances.
Whether you are local to the Northwest of England music scene or not, I think you will find plenty of fascinating nuggets from my guests about how they are inspired to create music and the the musicians who inspire them.
So sit back, relax, grab yourself a glass of something medicinal and listen to a laid back chat about how songwriters do what they do.
We start in 2017, with my first guest, the wonderful singer/songwriter Jonathan Tarplee
Join me, Tim Lee each month for a discussion about the back catalogue of a classic artist, including recommendations for first time listeners and those wanting to take a deeper dive into their albums.
