March Madness is here! Ty Rogers joins to talk about a variety of basketball topics, including his 2008 NCAA Tournament buzzer beater to lift Western Kentucky over Drake. Ty was also recently announced as a 2024 inductee to KHSAA Hall of Fame and shares some memories from his stellar career at Lyon County High School.  Among the things we learn are the fact that one of his high school coaches was Jeff Rogers, which is his dad's name, but his dad wasn't the coach!  We also talk about his ESPY and some of his favorite gyms he's played in.

Bryan Just is an assistant basketball coach at Saint Xaiver High School in Louisville, KY.  He grew up watching his dad and four uncles operate as successful and even championship coaches at various levels, taking something different from all of them.  Bryan is also an entrepreneur, working to grow his DASHCLIP business from the ground up.  This was a fun chat with someone that is proud of his family's tradition and working to pave his own way forward.

Chris Burke is currently a baseball live event and studio analyst for ESPN and SEC Network, appearing on coverage for college and professional games, including the College World Series and Little League World Series.  A unanimous choice for SEC Baseball Player of the Year in 2001, he was the Houston Astro’s first pick in the 2001 Major League Baseball draft.  In the 2005 division series against Braves, he hit the latest home run in MLB playoff history, a walk-off in the bottom of the 18th inning sending the Astros to the NLCS.  We talk a little bit about his experiences and get a quick preview of the college baseball season that got underway over the weekend.

Casey Dykes is an Assistant Hitting Coach for the New York Yankees.  He joined the podcast for a few minutes as he was getting settled in Tampa to prepare for spring training.  We discuss his journey to joining the Bronx Bombers, beginning with his playing days at WKU, several stops in the collegiate coaching ranks and a stint as the hitting coach with the Yankees’ AAA affiliate in Scranton prior to joining the big-league staff.  Of course we touch on the Yankees outlook for spring training and the regular season, and play a game of Fastballs at the end.

Eric Wood, the host of the Centered on Buffalo podcast and color commentator for Buffalo Bills radio, joins the podcast for a little pre-Super Bowl chat.  Wood starred at the University of Louisville before being Buffalo's first round pick in the 2009 NFL draft.  His career included a playoff appearance, Pro Bowl selection, and nomination for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award.  Wood is also an author and motivational speaker.

Jeff Crespi is an award winning photographer who currently serves as the house photographer at The Stone Pony, one of the most iconic music venues in the country.  He works in the same capacity at Asbury Lanes and formerly at the Starland Ballroom.  As someone who has overcome his struggles with addiction, Jeff’s personal story is just as compelling as the images he captures.  He began attending concerts with his then eight year old son a couple of decades ago.  At some point he decided to start taking pictures to document their adventures, and that passion has snowballed into a storied career.

Joe Imel is the general manager and publisher of the Bowling Green Daily News, part of the Carpenter Media Group.  He began his career 37 years ago as a reporter, arriving at the Daily News in 1991 as a photojournalist.   He is an award-winning photographer that continues to shoot when he is not listening to the police scanner and tweeting to more than 75,000 followers.   Imel's pictures have helped add context to stories on a state, national, and international scale.  He has photographed everything from weather events, to fires, to Kentucky Derbies, to Presidents and Popes.  He is still as passionate as ever about sharing stories and you can hear that in our conversation.

Brian Bennett is a senior editor at The Athletic.  He has previously worked for the Louisville Courier Journal and ESPN covering a variety of sports.  His passion and current focus is college basketball.  Brian helps catch us up on the current landscape of the sport and many people turn their attention that way at the conclusion of football season.  We also use the 9:00pm recording time after our kids are in bed as an excuse to enjoy a bourbon.  We do live in Kentucky.

Jack Harbaugh is the patriarch of one of the most successful families in the history of football.  His own resume includes success as a player, being drafted by the Buffalo Bills, coaching under Bo Schembechler at Michigan, and winning a national title as a head coach at Western Kentucky.  His son Jim will lead the Michigan Wolverines into the national title game in Houston, while John has earned the top seed in the AFC playoffs with the Baltimore Ravens.  Jack has always been known for his energy and enthusiasm for his family and the sport of football.  I think both show in this conversation.
