  • Those Pesky Fingerprints
Hi, Mitchell Jones Mitchell Home Sales, Coldwell Banker Realty. Today's tip is all about those pesky fingerprints on appliances. This may sound nitpicky but oftentimes when I've gone into a home to prepare it, help consult to prepare the home for listing, I've seen fingerprints and stick on the refrigerator handle, on the refrigerator doors. That's a critical thing to look at and address and not overlook. I would suggest getting that clean and then after that there's a product called Sheelashine, which is really great. It makes, stainless steel appliances really shine and that shows up in professional photography. So when a buyer sees fingerprints and stick all over that refrigerator, oftentimes they're like, what else is dirty that we're not seeing and we're gonna start looking for the dirt and we may not identify with that home as becoming our home. So my suggestion today is clean off those fingerprints. If you would like more tips like this and more, I hope you'll reach out to me. My number is (951) 805-1451. Hope to hear from you soon.

  • Inspect Before Listing
Inspect Before Listing by Mitchell Jones. Hi, Mitchell Jones, Mitchell Home Sales, Coldwell Banker Realty. Today I want to share with you a main reason why, if your home is a little bit older, why you might want to consider having a home inspection before you put your home on the market. The reason why homes fall out of contract, one of the primary reasons, is due to a repair dispute during the due diligence period between buyer and seller. The seller says, Hey, I'm not going to pay for this, and oftentimes it comes as a whoopsie that that seller didn't really realize that this was a pretty serious health or safety matter that needs to be addressed. So my suggestion today, my tip of the day, is I would suggest you Inspect Before Listing if your home's a little bit older just so that there are no surprises once you go under contract. For this and more suggestions on how to get your home ready to sell, I hope you'll give me a call. My number is (951) 805-1451. 9 5 1 8 0 5 1 4 5 1. Give me a call. Thanks.

  • What’s in Your Closet?
What's in your closet? Hi. Mitchell Jones, Mitchell Home Sales, Coldwell Banker Realty. Oftentimes, I go on listing consults where my prospective sellers are considering selling their home and they'd like suggestions and advice on how to get their home ready for sale. And I would say take a look at those closets. The reason why I'm saying that is oftentimes my sellers say well it's not important that I clean my closet up. Well, yes it is. Your buyers are gonna look in those closets. They want big closets. The less you have in that closet, the larger that closet is going to look. Items that are on the floor make that closet look confined and I would say kind of junky for showings. So whatever you can do to clean out those closets, you're gonna keep some things in there, obviously, but pare down collections, pare down everything that's in there, and if it makes sense, get some big boxes, take things to storage, or store them in your garage for optimal showings. For tips like this and others, I hope that you'll reach out to me for answers to your questions you might have. My number is (951) 805-1451.

  • Move That Car!
Move that car! Hi. Mitchell Jones with Coldwell Banker Realty and Mitchell Home Sales. Hey. You may have heard the saying Ty Pennington, coined, and he says move that bus. Well, if you're thinking about listing your home, I'm gonna say move that car. Recently, I just saw a home that went on the market over a million dollars, and there was the old car in the driveway. And one might ask, is the car included with the sale of the home? Well, no, it's not. But it also deters the vision that the buyer is seeing when their first impression is when they drive up to that home and they wanna see the best home that could potentially become theirs. So my message today to you is move that car. For tips like this and others, I hope you'll reach out to me. My number is (951) 805-1451. Again, that's (951) 805-1451.

  • Light Bulbs
Light Bulbs. Hi. Mitchell Jones, Mitchell Home Sales, Coldwell Banker Realty. Well today I'd like to talk about light bulbs. Why do we talk about light bulbs? Well if you're thinking about selling your home, it's really important to make sure you have no burned out bulbs. What happens is on professional photography day, the photographer comes in, they take pictures of your home, and typically we ask to have most of your lights on. So those pictures are light and bright. Well, if you have burned out bulbs already that sends a message to the buyer that maybe that seller hasn't paid extra attention to detail or maybe that seller hasn't properly maintained their home. So today, it's all about those light bulbs. Make sure all your light bulbs are functioning before you have professional photography if you're putting your home on the market for sale. For tips like this and more, please give me a call. My name is Mitchell Jones. I'm with Mitchell Home Sales, Coldwell Banker Realty. My number is (951) 805-1451. Again, (951) 805-1451. • Buying a Home in the Spring?
Buying a Home in the Spring? Hi. Mitchell Jones, Mitchell Home Sales, Coldwell Banker Realty. I've been asked before if it's a good time to buy a home in the spring and I would say absolutely yes and here is why. Oftentimes homes don't start hitting the market. Historically we start seeing greater inventory of homes ramping up toward the mid to latter part of spring and into early summer. So if someone's looking to buy a home here in early spring late winter it might be a good time. The reason why is sellers might be in a greater position to negotiate at this point. Maybe their home has been sitting on the market for a while. Maybe they're inclined to accept some type of credit at closing to help buy down a point. So if your question is, hey is this a good time to buy a home? I would say absolutely yes. And for answers to questions like this and more, I hope you'll give me a call. My number is (951) 805-1451. Hope to hear from you soon.

  • Buying Out of Area?
    Buying Out of Area?
Hi. Mitchell Jones, Mitchell Home Sales, Coldwell Banker Realty. Last week, I received a call from a friend, and she said that her kids are looking to buy their first home and they're out of area. And she said they're starting to interview agents, they're new at this, what kinds of questions should they ask these agents when interviewing them? Here's what I suggested. The first thing is ask that agent are you full time? Because if that agent is part time they may not have all the time to dedicate, especially if a home comes on the market in short time and that's the right fit. You want that agent available to be able to show that property. The other thing to consider would be how long has that agent been in the business? What kind of experience does that agent have? Another question to ask of that agent is how many homes in that exact area has that agent sold? Because the geography is really critical too. When they know the area that they're looking for they really want to make sure that it's going to be the right fit and that agent has working knowledge say of the, HOA rules or working knowledge of the cost for HOA or the area taxes. So those are really important questions to ask of the agent. For answers to questions you might have pertaining to buying a home or even selling a home, I hope that you'll give me a call. My number is (951) 805-1451.

  • Remove Those Photos!
Remove Those Photos by Mitchell Jones Realtor. Hi there, Mitchell Jones, Coldwell Banker Realty, residential home sales. You know, I have a lot of personal photos around my home. I love my photos, they make my home warmer. Quite frankly, my pictures of my precious, naughty little dogs, other people might not like. I absolutely adore my husband of 36 years, but people might not like my wedding photos and my vacation photos. My message to you today is, if you're thinking about selling, please do everything you can to depersonalize your home. because the more you can do that, the more and more a buyer potentially can bond with your home, feeling like it could become their home, thus yielding potentially a higher offer. So I would say remove those personal photos, and if you have any questions, would enjoy a consult, I'd love to meet with you. My number's 951-805-1451. Again, that's 951-805-1451. Hire the Right Agent by Mitchell Jones Realtor Hi, Mitchell Jones with Mitchell Home Sales and Coldwell Banker Realty. Well, if you've decided or you're thinking about wanting to list your home, it's really important to ask and interview multiple agents to make sure it's the right fit for you. And some things you might wanna ask that listing agent would be, first of all, what's their experience? What is their background? You might wanna ask them how long they've been in the business. Consider asking them how many homes they've sold in their career. How successful are they? And most importantly, your home is typically the largest, single most investment that you're gonna make in your lifetime. So deciding who that right agent is, is a key, key critical decision. • Put the Spit-Shine on it!
Hi, Mitchell Jones with Mitchell Home Sales and Coldwell Banker Realty. Well, today's tip is spit shine. You're like, what's spit shine? Well, spit shine is how your windows appear in professional photos and for your showings with your buyers. So if you're thinking about listing your home, it's really important. I recommend professionally cleaning your windows. Oftentimes the do-it-yourself jobs leave a little fog behind or they look a little blurry. And oftentimes the professional window cleaners will go ahead and they will use what we call deionized water. It makes things sparkle for those photos. It makes things sparkle for showings. And the bottom line is you wanna put your spit shine on to get top dollar. Oftentimes buyer's perception of value can be based on shining glistening windows, your curb appeal, so many things, decluttering. But like I said, today's topic is put the spit shine on it. and I'm wishing you a successful sale. For tips like this and more, please reach out to me. My number's 951-805-1451. Mitchell Jones, Mitchell Home Sales, Coldwell Banker Realty. Thank you.
