On this episode of Tips and Tricks: HBCU Hype, I speak with Dr. Pernella Rowena Deams.
Dr. Pernella Rowena Deams is a Higher Education Administrator, currently serving in the role of Interim Vice President for Student Engagement and Campus Life and Associate Professor of Psychology. Dr. Deams is passionate about student mentorship and encouraging students to pursue graduate school.
With a background as a two time HBCU graduate, she is drawn to serving within the HBCU Community and supporting HBCU student development; Deams comfortably engages the role of “HBCU Enthusiast-Advocate.”
She has direct experience in the areas of Curriculum Development, Program Evaluation, Diversity/Multiculturalism, Career Counseling, and Distance Learning.
Dr. Deams engages in many areas of academic service; she previously served as a Tennessee Board of Regents Academic Auditor and currently serves as a SACSCOC Evaluator.
