We explore the history of Motown Records with its large collection of inspirational figures working in every level of the industry, plus we discuss Motown as a sound which has led to its description as its own genre today. 21mins- segregation was officially abolished in 1964 but the last school that was desecrated was Cleveland High in Mississippi in 2016! yes in 2016 there was still a school segregated by race!
27mins- black models. The first widely credited black African American model was Naomi Sims in the 1960s. The first black model didn't appear on the cover of Vogue magazine until 1974- her name was Beverly Johnson.

58mins- Marvin Gaye Sr didn't go to jail for killing his son. He plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter and was given a 6 year suspended sentence. The judge believed he shot his son in self defence and so the prison term was never carried out.
