In today’s TNT episode, the hosts chat with Ben Townsend, KNOM’s News Director extraordinaire. TNT and B discuss Ben’s KNOM origin story, his life journey that led him to joining KNOM, and some memorable experiences from his first 6 months, including his trial by fire where he interviewed sx-time Iditarod winner Dallas Seavey on his first day with.

Teresa brings up how all their paths unexpectedly led them to KNOM, and how none of them ever considered a career in broadcast, but how she feels it was God’s plan. Tate adds to the discussion by eloquently pointing out that if you knew the future, life’s journey would be boring. There are also some discussions on the differences between typhoons and tornadoes, and personal experiences with both. Ben wraps up the episode by expressing deep gratitude for the hospitality and welcoming he has experienced during his time at KNOM, both in Nome and during his village trips to report on regional happenings.
