On today's show we discuss the legal fight against New Zealand's COVID tyranny, and Peter will discuss his tours of the Great Barrier Reef for people to see for themselves that the reef is doing well.
GUEST 1 OVERVIEW: Born to a father from Nga Ariki hapū and a Scottish mother, Brad was raised on farms until he was nine. Brad and his mother then moved to Auckland for eleven years where he played rugby, studied psychology, and eventually moved into trades. These days Brad lives on an off-grid farm in Northland where, alongside his partner, runs an indoor mushroom and Horticulture farm. He uses his research training, dedication to uncertainty, passion for psychology, law, and micro-biology to help the Freedom Movement in Aotearoa/New Zealand.
GUEST 2 OVERVIEW: Dr Peter Ridd is a geophysicist with over 100 publications and 35 years’ experience working on the Great Barrier Reef and developed a wide range of world-first optical and electronic instruments for measuring environmental conditions near corals and other ecosystems. He was head of Physics at James Cook University for over a decade before being fired, in 2018, for questioning the quality assurance systems used by reef science institutions. Some of the poor-quality work relates to the effect, or lack of effect, of climate change, and agriculture, on the reef. Dr Ridd now works, unpaid, with agricultural organisations, and the Institute of Public Affairs to improve quality assurance systems of “science” used by Australian governments to make environmental laws and regulations.
