Today’s episode was recorded at the peak of a powerful Total Lunar Eclipse in Pisces. This is a sacred time where truth is revealed and significant transformation is supported by the cosmos.  This eclipse signals a time to let go of old patterns and behaviors, bringing closure to repeating cycles of intergenerational wounds and wounding that we all internalize from the dominant systems around us.  We explore how reconnecting with our ancestral truth offers a pathway toward both personal sovereignty and collective change.  We look at the pattern of cultural suppression that serves white supremacy by severing connections to ancestral wisdom.  

During this transformative Blood Moon, ask yourself: Where do you need to rise up in your truth? Are you in right-relationship with what matters most? What service do you bring to the work that needs to be done right now?

The path forward requires going backward and slowing way down - honoring our nature, speaking our truth, and reclaiming what has always been ours.  We all have a role to play in what happens next, what's yours?

In today's episode, I'm recording outside to honor Lughnasadh (Lammas), which is the Gaelic pagan holiday that traditionally honors the first harvest, when communities would gather to celebrate their collective abundance.  It wasn't merely about collecting crops – it was about recognizing how each person's unique contributions sustained the whole community.  They celebrated through games, crafts, poetry, dance, and sharing food, displaying the rich tapestry of skills and gifts that made their community thrive. This ancient practice embodied a vital lesson: being in right relationship with the land means honoring its abundance, taking only what you need, and sharing what you have with each other. 

Lughnasadh is one of the eight sacred holidays (Sabbats) on the Witch’s Wheel of the Year.  The astrological energies of this week support the deep remembering of generational wisdom and wounding. With Chiron retrograde in Aries until January, we're called to reflect, return to, and regenerate – all those "re-" words that invite us to slow down and tune in.  Meanwhile, Leo season encourages authentic self-expression and discovering how our unique gifts serve the collective. These cosmic influences align perfectly with Lughnasadh's message of harvesting not just abundance, but awareness of our interconnectedness.  We are powerful when we come together and take care of each other.

As I felt the wind rise up around me during this recording, the message coming through feels both ancient and prophetic.  Our path involves right-relationship with the land, ourselves, our bodies, our community, and our Earth. Though we may seem insignificant individually, when we move together with harmony and purpose, we become an unstoppable force of nature that is divinely guided by a potent Irish Sovereignty Goddess herself, The Morrigan.

Cancer represents our emotional foundations—home, family, nurturance—while Capricorn embodies our tangible foundations—achievement, purpose, and long-term goals.  As we work with these energies, we honor both the cancer within us—our need for emotional security and rootedness—and the capricorn that takes us up the highest mountain toward our deepest purpose. The magick happens when we bring these seemingly opposite forces into harmony, creating a life that honors both our inner truth and our outward expression in the world.

It's no coincidence this alignment happens on July 4th, a day representing both celebration and the shadow of colonization on Turtle Island (North America).  Neptune stationing retrograde invites us into reflection, reprocessing, revisiting, rest, and recovery.   The astrology mirrors this complexity, challenging us to integrate it all in service of healing ourselves so we can heal this land.  The heart of this episode explores relationship dynamics through multiple lenses: attachment history, differentiation, learning, pleasure, and self-regulation.

What happens when we dare to slow down and truly look within?

In today’s episode, we move through a guided introspection journey that takes you through a comprehensive self-reflection process that mirrors what I offer in my healing work. We'll explore your social identities, family history, attachment patterns, and relationship to your body and experiences. Each question serves as an invitation to witness yourself with compassion, curiosity, and deeper consciousness.  At the heart of any transformation process lies the practice of introspection—a deliberate slowing down to examine the conditioning, societal expectations, and systemic structures we've unconsciously absorbed throughout our lives. This internal work isn't separate from our collective liberation. As we heal individually, we become more capable of authentic connection with others. In a world designed to keep us divided, coming together in genuine relationship represents a profound act of resistance and hope.

The timing of this exploration is significant, occurring during Cancer season—a period astrologically aligned with emotional well-being, home, safety, and relationships. This season invites us to dive beneath the surface and examine the emotional foundations upon which we've built our lives. With Jupiter's supportive influence on this new moon, we're presented with a potent opportunity for expansion, wisdom, and growth. According to astrological insights, we find ourselves at a critical inflection point between June 2025 and June 2026, where collective choices may significantly impact how the tide turns. This awareness adds urgency to our personal healing work.  The time is now to  cultivate the awareness necessary to create more just and loving systems—beginning with ourselves and extending outward to all life on Earth.

What happens when we dare to speak our deepest truths? When we step into the fullness of who we are, without editing out the uncomfortable parts?

This episode marks a turning point in our journey together as I reveal the intersections of my social identities as a licensed psychotherapist, a queer woman, a mother, and—perhaps most vulnerably—a practicing witch. I explore how these parts of myself inform one another and create the foundation for the healing work I do in the world.

From my earliest memories of guiding friends into trance states as a child to finding community within a Wiccan tradition as an adult, my spiritual path has always intertwined with my therapeutic practice. Both require rigorous self-knowledge, commitment to growth, and willingness to face shadow aspects. Both offer frameworks for transformation and healing.

I share how parenthood became my most profound initiation, confronting me with intergenerational trauma patterns I desperately wanted to break. As part of a lineage of "unmothered mothers," I faced my deepest fears about repeating harmful cycles with my own children—a reckoning that led me to integrate various healing modalities, including expanded state healing work.

This vulnerability serves a purpose beyond personal catharsis. By modeling truth-telling, I hope to create space for you to examine your own story with compassion and courage. Because our individual healing is inextricably linked to collective liberation. We must dismantle oppressive systems of white supremacy, patriarchy, and the insidious legacy of colonialism from the inside out, beginning with ourselves. As above, so below.

In our next episode, I'll guide you through your own storytelling journey using a reflection process I use with the folx I work with in my practice.  Until then, remember: your truth matters. And we must dare to tell it if we hope to heal ourselves and our world.
