Today's To The Moon episode is extra special because our guest, Raqi Zidane, an Iraqi war survivor who makes a fortune in real estate. Raqi holds an extra special place in my heart and in my life. Not only is he an Astro student but he has also become a personal friend. I admire him for how he is as a family man, teaching his children about real estate at their young age, and how he is as a student, always sharing to other people his time and his knowledge, always genuinely willing to help brand new students, making sure that they don't feel alone and that they know they are part of the Astro community. This real estate rockstar shares how he first started. He recalls how his dream began 2003, when the US troops rescued his family from the war zones in Iraq and Bagdad. He had started working in barber shops when he was 18 and even though he was always been laughed at by his classmates at school for not being able to speak in English, he didn't let that affect him. He knew his strength was connecting with people since he had started working at a young age and he was determined to overcome that language barrier and go to college. He made it to college however because of an accident, he had to stop for a season and he switched to aviation where he became a mechanic. Life was going smooth and steady until Covid hits and the company he was working for had to shut down. That time that he felt worried about his family's future was when Raqi found real estate. He first discovered Jerry Norton's YouTube channel and learned as much as he can on his own. It was only in 2021 that he had met me during a meet-up Pace and I had in Atlanta, and after a 2-minute conversation, he joined the Astroflipping community. He jumped into my mentorship headfirst, very much determined to succeed in his real estate investing journey, and he did succeed. And that was because of his go-giver mentality, and all the work, the time, the effort, the sweat and the blood that he had put in. It was impossible for Raqi not to succeed. He makes $70,000 in a month which is so much more than he ever makes in a year with his job as an aviation mechanic. Raqi now not only has a company doing wholesale deals but he's also into buy and hold and acquiring properties that cash flow. Raqi's life is more than an inspiration. He is a living proof that in life you always have a choice. Raqi could have chosen to live in self pity and with a victim's mindset with all the depressing events that he and his family went through in Iraq but he chose not to. Raqi chose to be an overcomer, a go-giver, a person who's determined to continue growing and becoming better every single day.

Hey guys, we have another To The Moon episode, another Astroflipping student success story, each one special and inspiring in their own way. Today we have Delana Edwards who's generous enough to share her journey, her background, how she started in this world of real estate, how she came to join the Astroflipping community, and how she saw financial freedom through real estate investing.

Delana's dream was to be a teacher. She took up education with the intention of attaining success in her field, going to grad school, and becoming a school superintendent. She shared how her experience growing up, helping take care of her brother, molded her dream of becoming an educator. Even so, she also has this other dream in heart of getting into commercial real estate and owning a number of beauty establishements. She recall a friend in college who fix and flips mobile homes and earns a couple thousand dollars which made her more interested in real estate. She shared her experience during the time she got to practice being a teacher and how during that time she realized that teching was not for her and that what she wanted was more control of her time, be her own boss, and not be dependent on other people for her and her families needs. It was her fiance who connected her with an Astroflipping student, Matthew Justice, who introduced her to Astroflipping. The moment she joined, she immediately locked in on the course and the community. Her hunger to succeed was evident. Her action and dedication testified that failure is not an option. She got her first deal a little over a month after joining Astroflipping and shortly after closed her second deal. Delana is prrof that the right input partnered with the right output will produce results. Delana put in time, and effort, and dedication, and hardwork and it is inevitable that she will reap success.

In today's To The Moon episode, we have Michael Carr, an Astroflipping student of mine who I see as a brother from another mother. He's story is one that is truly inspiring and I know many people would be able to relate and resonate with. He'll be sharing how he overcame his doubts and turned wholesaling real estate into an incredible business that would truly pave the way for financial freedom. 

Michael started to take interest in real estate in 2018. He turned to YouTube to try to learn as much as he can about wholesaling real estate. Prior to joining Astroflipping, he had a 9-5 job, which, like most people, weren't generating for him enough income that he had to aslo do Uber, Lyft,  and other small side hustles. His intention was to do wholesale real estate as a side hustle but little did he know at that time how wholesaling would turn out as such a big opportunity for him to not only get out of the rat race but also pave the way to true financial freedom. 

Upon joining Astroflipping, he understood how the best lead source is through relationship building with agents and other wholesalers, and immediately, he began to reach out to them through multiple platforms. He made $12K with his first deal which was a probate property. While it is true that for most people, $12K is not that big of a check, $12K and below are really what regular assignment fees look like. He understood that reality and more importantly, he understood that the key to succeed in this business long-term is for him to stack up on these "base hits". 

Michael's wholesaling journey is a proof that if you want to be the best in this business, you need to take base hits and hit them all day long. It's exactly what he did which enabled him to fire his boss and do wholesaling full time.

Isham Hipsher, from Anchorage Alaska, an intelligent and methodical personality, like many other people, was someone I immediately resonated and connected with. Growing up with no money, he, like many people, was inspired to enter the world of real estate investing by Robert Kiyosaki's Rich Dad Poor Dad. At an early age, he already knew he wanted more in life. It took him about 15 years to take action and he was very much guilty of passing on opportunities that came his way because of his limiting belief. His first taste in the real estate business was when he became a property manager for a broker whose lifestyle inspired him to dive into real estate investing. He left his W2 job, told his wife what he had wanted to do for the longest time, and tried to learn all that he can about wholesaling real estate through YouTube University. He recalled the first time he went under contract, he felt like he had made all the mistakes one can possibly make but he told himself it was ok, he picked up all the learnings from that first deal he did, which actually made him $10K. He came across a podcast I did a while back and Isham resonated with me, especially on what motivates me in this business more than the money. He signed up for Astroflipping and gives a testimony as to how the course was packed with so much value and how it was such a game changer for him. He studied the materials, trusted the systems and process, and took action. He tested doing lead generation through agent outreach with his agent friends out in Florida, and proved that it works. Now he has multiple deals in the pipeline, all lined up to close escrow. Isham's story is that of an ordinary guy who has an extraordinary heart and genuine intention to give himself and his family, the lifestyle that they want and deserve and how he is moving closer to that goal by doing the right actions. He used to be in the military and now he is wholesaling houses full time.

Evalena was one of my Astroflipping students whom I've watched grow. She's a nomad who loves to travel in her RV. She had started in 2020 in the business of wholesaling real estate, finding leads the traditional way which. She atests to how big of a difference it is with talking to sellers directly versus talking to real estate agents, most especially when it comes to the flow and the manner of conversation. Real estate agents are more in tuned with what's actually happening in the market versus home owners and conversations would be business to business. Her first deal which was a month after joining Astroflipping was a deal she sold to KeyGlee and made $7500 and not very long, she was able to pick up her momentum, built her buyers list, and is now doing atleast 5 deals a month, getting her a revenue of $50,000 to $60,000 every month. She has now started scaling and is operating in multiple markets. She has delegated most of the work to her teams that she is mostly signing contracts, allowing her to have more free time to enjoy what she loves the most which is to travel to places.
