  • The Peace He Gives

Welcome back To the Table. It seems only appropriate that today’s episode is all about peace. Where does our peace come from? How do you find peace when things aren’t going to way you want them to? How do you share peace with others? We hope you leave this conversation feeling encouraged regardless of what is happening around you – HE is our peace, and He never leaves us.

John 14:25-27 – These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Proverbs 3:5 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not

    lean on your own understanding.

1 Kings 19:11-12 – And he said, “Go out and stand on the mount before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper.

Galatians 5:22-23 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Matthew 5:9 – Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

2 Corinthians 1:20 – For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.

Romans 12:18 – If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

John 16:33 – I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.

  • Weighty Callings

Welcome back To the Table. What would you consider

your purpose right now, in whatever season you are in? This episode is all about purpose and the weightiness of the roles the Lord has called us to. Jenna and I are both married with children, so for us, our “callings” are similar – to be a wife and a mom. Your story may be the same as ours, or maybe it’s different. Maybe you would use the words “caregiver”, “encourager”, “provider”, or “teacher” to describe what the Lord has called you to. Regardless, we all have a purpose and we can lean on Him - “our God who fulfills his purpose for me” (Ps. 57:2).

one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as
the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

Lamentations 3:22-23 – The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

  • New Year, New You?

1.5 – Welcome back To The Table. It’s that time. New year, new rhythms, new you…or so we’re told. But what if this new year could just be that – a new year. If you’re ready for a fresh start or feel the Holy Spirit leading you to start something new, by all means, jump in. If you’re moving along steady, in a good rhythm for your in, settle in. We’ll be your excuse to let go of finding the “new you” or starting 15 new things on January 1st. After you listen to this conversation, we hope you feel encouraged to move forward listening to the Holy Spirit and living in the grace (and new mercies) the Lord gives us each day.

  • Count It All JOY

Welcome back To The Table. Here we are on Christmas

Eve talking about JOY. Don’t worry, this isn’t an episode where we talk about the “most magical season of the year” and how perfectly our plans are unfolding…more like how things seem to be spiraling out of control 🫠 We’ll chat about where the joy comes from, what we have to do to get it, and plenty more joyful mentions. We hope this episode encourages you as you bake those last few cookies or wrap the last few presents.

James 1:4 - Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing

of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Welcome back To The Table. Every episode feels like we’re telling you more and more about our lives and this one is no

different. This week we are answering 3 questions focused on our inputs, outputs, and confessions, or as Jenna so creatively named them “feast, fellowship, and forgiveness”. Our hope is that you think about these questions over the next couple of days and let them influence all the tiny decisions you make on a daily basis.

Welcome To The Table! This week we are sharing the “why” behind the podcast and “how” we got here. We’re sharing more of our stories, our struggles and our victories, and how the Lord has brought us to the place we’re in now. Our hope, is that you would be encouraged to seek out community for yourself and lean into those that the Lord has put in your life.

If you’re in a difficult season now, know that you are in

good company ❤️ We’ve been there and would love for our experiences to help you navigate some of the all-too-common struggles we’ve faced in our walks.

*Just like last week, we know the audio could be better. Hang in there. In the spirit of being honest and transparent, Jenna & I both agree that the stories and the insight in these first few episodes are too good not to share. So lean in. Bear with us as we learn these new skills and know that very soon we will have better audio.

  • Let's Start with Introductions - Who are we?

Join us for the very first episode of To The Table,

where we share our stories—who we are, why we’re “qualified” to host this conversation, and how we each began our relationship with Jesus.

There’s a fine balance between sharing “the good, the bad,

and the ugly” and falling off the deep end – so we hope that our honesty and transparency are just enough to pique your interest, but not so much that we send you running in the opposite direction.

*If you know me, you know that I like things to be as

perfect as they can be. I can’t tell you the hours I’ve spent (and the friends who have tried to help us, thank you!) trying to improve the quality of the audio in this episode…too many to count. However, Jenna & I both agree that the stories and the insight in these first few episodes are too good to not share. There’s just no way for us to replicate the conversations we’ve had in a way that doesn’t feel rehearsed. So lean in. Bear with us as we learn these new skills and know that very soon we will have better audio.

We have created a playlist of the songs we're listening to

on repeat (and blasting in the car with our kids). It's full of songs related to our conversation today and we hope it adds a little encouragement to some of the less exciting moments in your day.

  • Back to Basics: Rest

Welcome back To the Table. Thank you for joining us for this week’s conversation. Today’s practice may seem like no big deal, but it often ends up being left off the list. We’re talking about rest. As we’re learning today, there’s a lot of different kinds of rest, but they all originate from the Father. Jesus himself tells us to come to Him if we’re tired and weary, and he will give us the rest we need and long for. There are so many scriptures and resources mentioned in this episode, so be sure to check out the show notes for more info.

Exodus 33:12-17 - Moses said to the Lord, “See, you say to me, ‘Bring up this people,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found favor in my sight.’ Now therefore, if I have found favor in your sight, please show me now your ways, that I may know you in order to find favor in your sight. Consider too that this nation is your people.” And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” And he said to him, “If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here. For how shall it be known that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people? Is it not in your going with us, so that we are distinct, I and your people, from every other people on the face of the earth?” And the Lord said to Moses, “This very thing that you have spoken I will do, for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name.”

Psalm 62:1-2 - For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.

Psalm 23 - The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil,
for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Isaiah 30:15 - For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.”...

Matthew 11:28-30 - Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Galatians 6:9 - And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
