Is it well with your soul? This is the question most leaders are failing to ask themselves and one another. Andrea will emphasise the importance of developing a resilient spirituality that is fuelled by joy and will be providing us with some practical teaching on how we go about this. Further, Andrea will be pushing us to think about how we develop this kind of spirituality within our church communities.
In this seminar we are going to interview Jeri, asking questions about what it was like when the presence of God broke in during the Pensacola Revival and what are some of the key patterns and postures we can learn for today.
Jeri Hill is the wife of the late evangelist Steve Hill, alongside whom was instrumental in stewarding the Pensacola Revival at Brownsville Assembly of God in 1995. For the next five years, she home-schooled her three children while participating in the ministry at the revival every night. Jeri travels nationally and internationally bringing the message of revival, repentance and healing to a lost and dying world.
What did Paul mean when he said ‘you have many teachers but not many fathers’? How can we fulfil the Paul/Timothy model of entrusting leadership without feeling threatened? How do we manage transition and succession well? How do we ‘father’ the next generation of leaders without abdicating responsibility?
Phil Emerson will be hosting this seminar and trying to teach us how we answer these questions in the context of a local church.
Phil is one of the Lead Pastors and founder of Emmanuel Church. Phil is passionate about the local church and releasing the next generation. He finds himself these days pastoring other pastors and one of his primary desires is to see ‘the hearts of the Fathers turned to the sons and the sons to the Fathers.’
What does it look like when the two, often separated, main streams of church history begin to flow together? Around the world today and particularly within the 24-7prayer movement we are witnessing the joy of the Contemplative stream and the Charismatic stream flowing as one river. What are the benefits of this for us as individuals and the church and how can we practically leave space for both in our church communities.
