Thanks to everyone who tuned in for my FB Live broadcast last night where myself and my colleague Rob Town discussed the content and launch of my forthcoming Patreon fanclub platform.

Unfortunately the video element of the broadcast was corrupted for some unknown reason so we’re issuing the audio as a podcast through my ‘Toby and the whole truth’ podcast platform. (Please excuse any minor audio issues).

The main points you need to know are:

1. The ‘Toby and The Whole Truth’ Patreon account will launch on June 1st at 7pm

2. The monthly subscription will be set at £10 per month, for everyone. This will be taken on the 1st of each month, starting 1st June, so that everyone has access to past and present content for as long as they wish to subscribe. Please note, we've been made aware that Patreon will charge 20% VAT on top of the subscription. We're not VAT registered and will not take a penny from this. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

3. There is NO minimum fixed time limit. You can leave anytime you wish.

My guest on the third ‘Toby and the Whole Truth’ podcast is Planet Rock presenter Wyatt Wendels.

But there is so much more to this most intriguing of characters. Born into a family of musicians, Wyatt’s first love was in fact acting before falling headlong into the world of music and embarking on a career as a drummer. He has had record deals, made records and toured the world. Eventually finding the world of radio, Wyatt has become a key figure and much-loved voice on Planet Rock radio, helping time support and nurture new talent through his show. In this very honest conversation he discusses his history, his triumphs and struggles, as well as his hopes and future plans.

This week’s guest is non-other than legendary hard rock Yorkshire vocalist Biff Byford.

I’ve been a lifelong fan of Saxon, and indeed the first single I ever bought was ‘Wheels of Steel’ after watching them perform it on Top of the Pops. Years later, Little Angels opened for Saxon in Europe and then much later in 2007, in Tokyo Japan, I had the absolute pleasure of spending an evening with Biff talking about music when Fastway appeared on the same bill as Saxon at the ‘Loud park’ festival. That encounter was the first of many that has led to a very valued friendship. 

Biff has, throughout his incredible career, remained a resilient and tenacious character, determination has been at the forefront of everything he has attempted in life, and Saxon are testament to that approach. Now in their 40th year and celebrating that fact, the band go from strength to strength and the reason is quite simple, Biff is at the helm and he is as focused and as determined as ever. 

In this interview Biff reveals much about his past and the route to success, as well as his usual erudite views on the business of rock n roll, so put on the kettle brew yourself a cup of Yorkshire tea and listen to a master of the craft. 

Ricky Warwick started life in Ireland before moving to Glasgow. He fell in love with rock ‘n’ roll at an early age and never looked back. A steely eyed focus and the determination of a man possessed led him down a road to a major record deal and international recognition. But his journey has been fraught with failure as well as success. Hear Ricky talk about his personal journey, from his first band THE ALMIGHTY right through to THIN LIZZY and BLACK STAR RIDERS. What were and are his demons? How has this most eloquent and compelling of characters managed to survive so long and how did he find his salvation?
