I believe God has got something for us today. I believe he's made something on my heart and I know that many of you are dealing with this. I've been feeling overwhelmed with stress, with discouragement, but the Lord gave me a breakthrough in a victory over it this week.
The Bible says life and death are in the power of the tongue and so if you've allowed somebody's words to take root in your heart, or maybe you've had somebody die recently in your life or you're just kind of feeling like you're at a midlife crisis point or you've got a tough decision that you're trying to walk through and figure out the right thing to do, we're going to get to the root of this today. We're going to we're going to take this on and I'm going to explain to you what this is.
Scripture 1: Psalm 42:11
"Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God."Example: King David
David faced numerous challenges, from Saul’s pursuit to his own sin with Bathsheba. Despite these, he consistently turned to God in his lowest moments, exemplifying reliance on God’s strength.Scripture 2: Isaiah 41:10
"Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."Example: Prophet Elijah
After a major victory on Mount Carmel, Elijah faced threats from Jezebel and fled into the wilderness, feeling utterly alone and discouraged. God met him there, providing comfort and direction, demonstrating that even in our isolation, God is with us.Scripture 3: 2 Corinthians 4:8-9
"We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed."Example: Apostle Paul
Paul faced immense persecution, imprisonment, and hardship. His steadfastness amidst these trials serves as a testament to finding strength and purpose in Christ.Scripture 4: Philippians 4:6-7
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."Example: Job
- Job's story is one of extreme suffering and discouragement. Yet, his persistent faith and honest communication with God showcase how to maintain trust in God despite circumstances.Scripture 5: Hebrews 12:1-2

Today, we got an important topic because I know many of you are going through a challenge and a test. How do I know this? The the phone is ringing off the hook. The emails are full and just everybody I talk to seems to be going through a trial, especially strong believers. And so God really put this on my heart. It's it's entitled "Passing Under the Rod". It comes from the book of Ezekiel 20:37 (NKJV) "“I will make you pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant". I'm going to get into this today because I think it's going to help you.

Scripture #1: Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."Explanation: This verse reminds us that our hope in the Lord leads to renewed strength. Through Him, we can overcome weariness and rise above life's challenges.
Scripture #2: Psalm 28:7 (NIV)
"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song, I praise him."Explanation: When we trust in the Lord, He becomes our strength and shield. Our hearts find joy in Him, and our praises become a source of encouragement.
Scripture #3: 2 Corinthians 4:16 (NIV)
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day."Explanation: In Christ, our inner selves are renewed daily, even when our physical circumstances may appear challenging. This renewal keeps us encouraged and steadfast.
Scripture #4: Psalm 73:26 (NIV)
"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."Explanation: In moments of weakness, God is our unfailing strength, and He remains our portion forever. This knowledge encourages us to persevere.
Scripture #5: Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."Explanation: God's command to be strong and courageous is a constant reminder that His presence is with us, providing the encouragement we need.

"I can do all this through him who gives me strength."Explanation: Through Christ, we find the strength to overcome any obstacle or challenge. His power empowers us to press forward with confidence.

We just saw the Lord's hand and blessing on us in such a major way this last week as he has been moving in power. And so I pray that that will come on you today just to recharge the strengthening in your faith.
We've been getting marching orders about what we're going to be doing in the next year. The Lord is saying he's not done. He's not done with America. He's not done with this community. He's not done with you and I. There are still many things to look forward to in our lives. And we can't get on the doom and gloom train and forget that God renews our strength and he continues to show us ways that we can serve him each day and bless his holy name.
I've been talking about renewing our strength because where we are going, there is going to be a need for us to encourage ourselves in Christ like the Apostle Paul. I pray that you won't have to go through some of the things that Paul went through, being thrown in jail, being persecuted, being thrown out of whole regions. I pray that's not what happens to us.

"Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses."2. 2 Timothy 4:7 (NKJV):
