Episode 44 of the Toddcast the Teacher Podcast: (Danica See – Little Bloom Consultancy)
For the forty-fourth episode of the Toddcast the Teacher Podcast I had the wonderful opportunity of interviewing Danica See from Little Bloom Consultancy.
Danica is an early childhood educator, university lecturer, practicum supervisor and mother of one. She is also the owner of Little Bloom, a platform that shares a multitude of information about child development, social-emotional learning and, most significantly, supporting children’s behaviour for people supporting children aged 0-7 years.
After working in the early childhood space for over 15 years, Danica has recognised a fundamental need for a shift in the way that we support children’s behaviour - people are seeking help with how to effectively support young children’s behaviour and emotional development but are unsure of where to find this information. Through Little Bloom, Danica has made it her mission to bridge the divide between theory and practice by bringing evidence-informed information to parents and early childhood educators by sharing personal anecdotes, camaraderie, current research and strategies.
Danica discusses the following:
- Her teaching journey, why she became a teacher and her teacher role model/s.
- Greatest challenge and proudest moment as a teacher.
- What is Little Bloom Consultancy and how it all came about.
- What does it offer teachers and parents.
- Best tips on how to best support educators and parents transform how they support their children’s behaviour and emotional development.
- Importance of building relationships with your students.
- Does a teacher’s or parent’s mindset play an important role in how a child will react.
