Together We Anime Podcast

In this recap episode, the Together We Anime crew comes together to reflect on our 2025 anime podcast journey.

We talk about evolving our review format, the positive support from listeners, and why reviewing anime together has been such a fun experience. From the most entertaining anime we watched this year to shows we’d love to revisit with friends, we highlight standout characters like Tokiyuki from The Elusive Samurai and unforgettable watches such as Ghost Stories and Prison School. We also share what we’re most excited about as the podcast moves forward.

Whether you’re a longtime listener or new to the pod, we hope you'll watch some anime with us in 2026. See you in the comments!

The Together We Anime Crew dusts off their uniforms to watch Prison School. After the original recording was lost to corruption years ago, they set out to do right and wrong. They are joined by original crew member Kay Frank$ as they discuss if this raunchy comedy finds balance with its jokes. Is the anime confined by its ridiculous plot, or does it thrive via interpersonal plots and character arcs? But most importantly, will the anime leave you free or imprisoned by its conclusion?

Trick or treat? How about both? Together We Anime reviews Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. The crew dives into an anime that none of them were expecting. Could there be such a thing as too much crass humor or have we been conditioned since the 90s? An anime with a unique art style and fun characters will always grab eyes, but does the sum of its parts allow for an engaging watch? But most importantly, will your undergarments be moist and desserts delectable after watching, or will they be dry and inedible? Tune in to find out!

The Together We Anime crew try to keep their hue clear as they review Psycho Pass, Season 1. In a world where AI essentially determines your job, mental health, and even your existence, does it truly lead to an optimal world? They discuss the similarities that Psycho Pass shares with other media, it's approach to story development, and chat about a recurring name on lists of great all-time villains, Shogo Makishima. But more importantly, how will our Crime Coefficient rate this anime?

If you're afraid of things that go bump in the night, you have nothing to fear as the Together We Anime crew reviews Ghost Stories. They discuss the infamous English dub and what still works today and what likely is a byproduct of the mid-00s.

Could this anime be rebooted as a more mature show, in either comedy or its intended spooky element? Is shock humor a good device or a crutch for poor writing?

Most importantly, when the crew opens up the journal of a deceased mother, will it show an anime worth watching because it's good, or an experience because it's bad?

The TWA crew travels back in time to review Erased. Considered a great anime hampered by its finish, we discuss where we stand on its ending. Erased appears to be a tale of two genres, so the crew attempts to figure out if it does one better than the other. Spotting the villain may be easy, but were we able to discover our ratings of what many deem a classic?!
