Last kaiwa episode of the year! This was also recorded awhile back, and on Late's potato so bear with the audio quality, but we're happy to finally be able to release this conversation with Sean G! @magicseanson is a DJ out of Los Angeles who is affiliated with the group Pac Div. He talks about his proclivities as a DJ, how he sees the international scene, being a DJ for the L.A. Clippers, and more! Thanks to all the Tanaka's for listening, we've got one more in store for ya'll before the end of the year.

MLS #019 "HOW DO I PLUG IN THIS AUX?"

Yo the incredible guest list grows! Episode 19 with Jyodan, @amiide and @agosound, as known as “Cirrrcle!” Mega, Late, Steze and Miss Inglewood met with Cirrrcle to record this episode in November. We talk about Cirrrcles work together, some of their individual projects and some of their new music. We also talk about the QUAVOS, Swap Meets, and how much 2pac can bench press. Late forgot the SP-404, so he and Steze do all the drops acapella style. Jyodan and Mega talk too damn much. Miss Inglewood calls Mega a mark. Ami is too damn cool. Mega gets too drunk. Ago is chilllllin. And Cirrrcle talk about their newest track “Petty” which released earlier this week. It was super dope building with Jyodan, Ami and Ago. Everyone should be looking forward to their work in the future.

Also this is Mega’s first time editing an episode solo. Mistakes… may have been made. Leave comments in the doodly-doo.

Got another kaiwa episode for ya'll. This time we have world-reknowned DJ from Paris, Sims of @now-futur! This conversation was recorded awhile back, but the information is pertinent and relevant. Sims gives a breakdown about his past, the scene in France, his favorite kinds of shows and crowds, and what he thinks about Tokyo. ALSO, sorry for the audio quality; it was recorded on a Samsung Galaxy S-Piece-Of-Shit, so please bear with the grit to get the gems. Peace to the goons & the worst,

On this week's episode we sat down with the Tokyo-based melancholy pop band, (the) ocean and i. (the) ocean and i consists of Ernesto on drums, Maryssa on bass, and front man, Nayozenza Robin Oliver. Tanaka's will recognize our guy Nayokenza from episode 7. On this episode we discuss a lot of topics, from rap tv shows to sober hook ups. We also find out how (the) ocean and i went from Nayokenza's one-man electronic project and turned into a 3-piece band.

Ayyyy, here's another kaiwa! This time with the legendary MARK de CLIVE-LOWE! He's an amazing musician who's super nice on the keys, drum machine, and probably other things we just weren't fortunate enough to witness this time, but he gave us a bit of his before playing a set to talk about his history with Japan, his movments out in L.A., parties he's done all over the world, his method, and his philosophy about music. Make sure to check out his latest albums Church and Live at the Blue Whale! Peace to @markdeclivelowe, SARASA, Terry, and the whole SE crew!!!

Yo, back with some sustenance for all ya'll hungry Tanaka's. For this episode we had beatmaker/illustrator/gastrononator extraordinaire, Foniks! We get into a whole bunch of topics; this ep was recorded a lil while ago, but unfortunately sexual harassment is still a relevant topic, but we also get into lighter topics like poppers and Quetzalcoatl. In all seriousness, Foniks is the homey, and we're happy to finally get him on. He tells us about his travels in south-east Asia, his beginnings in Cali, and what he's getting up to here in Tokyo. Make sure to check him out cause he's mean on the drum machine plus he rolls through with a couple of EXCLUESIVES!!! Peaaaaacceeeeee,

This kaiwa episode was recorded a couple months back at SPEAKEASY, the #1 Vibe-Out Party in Tokyo. We were BLESSED to chop it up with DJ SARASA for a short while. She gave us a little bit of her history and the history of SPEAKEASY. We're looking forward to having her back on the show in the future to get more in-depth. Enjoy T.A.N.A.K.A.'s!!!

Back again!! Hello, True Tanaka's. We've got an episode with guest Tracy Jones, a writer for LA Weekly and Tokyo Weekender. We get into wack new artists, California underground, the hip-hop scene in Florida in days gone past and days of future past. Tracy is a new part of the fam, and we were happy to have a chance to pick his brain a little and introduce him to the format known as "podcasting".

Also, Late was very sleepy and kept calling Denzel Curry, "Dennis Curry"...peace,

ョ、back with another 会話 (Kaiwa) episode for ya'll! This time Mega chopped it up with Mike Magik, a b-boy/emcee heavy in the scene. There's a lot of discussion about breaking, and the topic really gets broken down and analyzed in a respectful way. If you're interested in this element of hip-hop or even if you know nothing about it, you definitely want to listen to this conversation between two who are each supremely knowledgeable about the craft. Thanks to Mike Magik for rocking with us (again...)!
