We examine the intersection of Bach (as in J.S.) and Bock (as in beer) in our very first celebration of Oktoberfest, i.e., BACHtoberfest! We hear the story behind the annual beer and brat-soaked Bavarian event (which has been going on since 1810), and espouse the glories of J.S. Bach (which has been going on since 1685). Also, we offer a preview of other October events from the symphony, and manage to put in a plug for public radio (it is fundraising time, after all).
