The little big issue for this episode is the reality of life in an association governed community, more commonly known as an HOA.  Nearly 3 out of every 4 new homes built today is part of an HOA governed community. For that reason, this episode aims to raise awareness of the economic, social, and political realities of what life inside these communities can look like. Lobbyists and industry stakeholders often tout that HOA communities protect residents property values and save municipalities money. However, there is a starkly different reality playing out in the day to day of many communities nationwide. My guest for this episode is a homeowner and elected board member of an association governed community.
