Tom Ray's Art Podcast

In this podcast, I talk about the different types of posts I tried on my website to get free traffic from Google by finding the questions people are searching for. I also talk about how I found a way to make money from these posts just by talking about what I do.

In this episode of the podcast, I talk about different ways I make money with my art blog website.

I didn't have a store or anything really to sell when I started out. So I used other ways to make money doing what I love as I was creating things to sell in my store.

One way was by posting as an Amazon Affiliate.

I also talk about how I started selling my webcomic as a book on Amazon!

On the podcast, I continue my series talking about some behind-the-scenes information about what I do to create and manage my websites and my own business.

I explain how this site actually didn't start as a podcast. I didn't even start out drawing my daily webcomic at first.

I started out with just an idea, no artwork, and nothing to sell.

But after posting I found a voice for what I wanted to do and it grew into something I never expected.

I wanted to share this to help inspire anyone else out there to see what can happen when you start out with nothing.

I'm going to be doing a series of podcast episodes that are some behind-the-scenes information about how I started my site and different things that I tried to get it started.

I'm doing this because I am going to Prague in November to speak at a conference and I wasn't able to schedule interviews.

In this episode, I wanted to talk about starting a website and the different services that are out there, including the one that I use for this site.

On this episode of the podcast, I meet Jeremiah Logemann. Jeremiah is a creator living in Madison WI. Jeremiah started his whole business by creating a version of a wooden flag that he saw. He wanted one like it so he made it. Then after posting it on Facebook other people started asking him to make one for them. This all lead to a series of events that involved finding reclaimed wood and then building larger pieces for people and eventually local businesses. Then Jeremiah started to wonder what else could I do? And through trial and error expanded into t-shirts and other household gift items.
