Happy Birthday, America! Our country is celebrating in a great way. But can I celebrate this so soon after losing Roz? Is it ok to be happy without her? These are real questions as I face my first holiday without my better half.

It's been seven days since my world was rocked with the sudden passing of my dear wife, Roz. It still doesn't seem real. But I'm beginning to sense some light shining through my darkness. We lost a good one. People offering condolences have told me Roz was the BEST person they had ever met. For he to be gone in her prime raises questions that may not have an answer, or worse, might give me an answer I wouldn't want to hear.  This morning, as I continue processing the sudden, unexpected death of my wife, I'm thinking through some tough questions.
