August 26, 2026 Episode 88: Tomes & Tonics & One of the NYT's Best Books of the 21st Century (and maybe of all time)
We're battling technical difficulties and having bonus beverages this week as we cover our first book bingo pick of 2026! Before we dive into our book for this week, we catch up on our current and recent reads, including Christina's thoughts on Alice Feeney's "My Husband's Wife" and Lauren updating her cry count during "A Man Called Ove." Then we discuss perhaps one of the strongest books we've read so far this year, Ta-Nehisi Coates' highly-regarded (and for very good reason) second novel, "Between the World and Me," which appears on many lists of the best books of the 21st century. This critically important read is one we cannot recommend enough, and we definitely will be reading more of Coates' novels. We then wrap the episode out with revisiting our brackets and choosing our September bingo pick! So grab a beverage (or three) and tune in for another episode of Tomes & Tonics!
