Kelly interviews fitness blogger Erin Washington as she takes a different approach emphasizing balance, like lifting heavier and enjoying that spicy margarita along the way outlined in her first memoir, Squats and Margaritas. This Northern Virginia mom to a 3-year-old and a 16-month- old is candid as she opens up about her body image issues that she struggled with for 20 years, including when she was dating her now husband, former Washington Redskins Linebacker, Marcus Washington.

Through less cardio, lifting heavier and eating more, at age 38, Erin is proudly in the best shape of her life. She leaves no excuses for the busy mom as she offers her favorite recipes and workout routines that can be done at home, even with your kids.

Grammy Award Winner Jason Mraz came to DC for a unique mission. He wants to bring members of Congress together around music. Yes in the middle of all the things happening in Washington he cut through the noise to talk about the AM-FM Act. The “Ask Musicians for Music Act” would edit copyright laws for music creators and radio stations. For the record Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-T.N.) and Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.), Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, introduced companion legislation in their respective chambers in November.

The bi-partisan bills aren’t the only thing on Mraz’s mind. In an interview recorded in the Recording Academy’s DC office we talked about creating his new holiday hit “Christmas Valentine” with Ingrid Michaelson and how they collaborated on the tune being miles away from each other. Jason is also a champion of inclusive arts and equality with his foundation working nationally on programs to bring everyone into the fold.
