Being a claircognizant or intuitive empath, you have the ability to know if and what needs to be done in a situation without any solid evidence or rationale behind it.

This type of empath has the ability to know whether or not they should do something depending on the context and circumstances. Claircognizant empaths are able to vibe off of the energy field of others and, in having that ability, they are able to read people very easily.

The psychometric empath has the ability receive information and energy from objects, photographs, or locations that are significant to a person.

Psychometric empaths are also able to form impressions and relate situations or past events with inanimate objects. They are able to use the energy from a place or inanimate object to receive information and impressions about it.

This type of empath possesses the ability to communicate with plants and receive their signals.

A flora empath, also known as a plant empath, can sense what plants need and can even communicate with plants on a more intimate level. They are able to use plants' energy to help plants stay alive, grow and prosper. If plants are in danger, the flora empath is able to communicate this with the plants.

This pertains to the ability to feel and the ability to communicate with animals. Fauna empaths, also called animal empaths, can send messages to animals as well.

Typically, communication is initiated by the empath and rarely by the animals. Those who hear these messages may realize that animals are requesting a change in the animal’s life.

A geomantic empath has the ability to read signs and get signals from the soil or earth. This type of empath is especially sensitive to reading and feeling future natural disasters.

Geomantic empaths can detect when natural disasters, such as hurricanes and earthquakes, are going to hit by the earth’s energy signals and changes in that energy.

This type of empath is able to read another person’s thoughts and feelings, even when they aren’t vocalized or expressed by the person. This type of empath is able to use the five senses to read the thoughts, feelings, and beliefs of other people.

Telepathic empaths can also take objects and form impressions on feelings associated with the particular object.

The precognitive empath holds the ability to feel a situation or event occur prior to it actually happening. This can be seen through dreams of extreme emotional and physical upheaval.

Precognitive empaths may experience a sudden sense of anxiety and nervousness and their intuition becomes intensified or heightened. This type of empath usually has heightened sensitivity.

Emotional empaths are able to read and feel the emotions of others.

While this is a common trait among empaths, in general, this type is especially sensitive to feeling and reading others' emotions without others having to explain what they are going through or why they are feeling a certain way.

This type of empath has the ability to feel another person’s pain and symptoms within their own body. This type of empath is considered to be a medical empath.

Old souls very much prioritize truth and wisdom. As such, they often have curious minds about what's happening in the world and internally "but not in a superficial way," Brailsford notes. "Whether it's world events or your relationship with a family member or friend, it's the idea of being curious about what's emerging and what one might learn or cultivate through the experience," she explains.

If you're an old soul, you're likely able to see beyond appearances, Brailsford says. You're probably able to let things roll off your back easier, and you're less likely to be triggered by certain things. "I'm not saying on a day-to-day basis you're not human and don't get angry," she adds, "but overall, you're able to step back and see the bigger picture, whether immediately or a little later, and have a sense of what it was all about."

According to Merzon, being an old soul can make it difficult to form meaningful connections, at least when you're young. "If you're an old soul and are still chronologically young, it might take a while to find your tribe," she says. And as Brailsford adds, "They might feel like an outlier, and they may initially feel that they're alone in this."

While it can be difficult to get along with everyone when you're an old soul, Brailsford is quick to note that in the long run, old souls are actually good at finding their fellow kindred spirits. "A true old soul realizes they can't be the only one. Old souls are looking out for one another, they're trying to find one another, so they're trying to make that connection because they realize there's a connection to be had." This is where you see those instantaneous soul connections that run very deep.

Not only do old souls feel deeply connected to God, spirit, the universe—whatever it is they call it—but they also feel that with nature, the people in their lives, and even strangers. "An old soul has a sense of connection to the universe and therefore to other souls," Brailsford says, adding, "We probably have that connection to everyone, but maybe it doesn't show up in this lifetime."

Because old souls can see the big picture and beyond many of the basic structures that govern our reality, they like to do things their own way. "Old souls are rebellious," Brailsford notes. "They don't just think outside of the box—they intuit that the boxes don't even exist [...] There's a skepticism, a sense of understanding that everything they've been shown isn't necessarily the case, and they're going to seek to find their own truth."

One of those basic structures that we touched on previously would be materialism. Simply put, old souls are not concerned with it. They have a sense that "we're living in this material world but there's something more important, and perhaps the things we've been taught in school, or by our parents, or society, aren't necessarily true," Brailsford says.

Although all Guardians share core characteristics, not all of them are the same. In Keirsey's observations, he noted that there were four kinds of Guardians. They are: the Guardian Supervisor (ESTJ), Guardian Inspector (ISTJ), Guardian Provider (ESFJ), and Guardian Protector (ISFJ).

Supervisors are highly social and community-minded, with many rising to positions of responsibility in their school, church, industry, or civic groups. Supervisors are generous with their time and energy, and very often belong to a variety of service clubs, lodges, and associations, supporting them through steady attendance, but also taking an outspoken leadership role. Supervisors like to take charge of groups and are comfortable issuing orders.

Inspectors are extraordinarily persevering and dutiful, particularly when it comes to keeping an eye on the people and products they are responsible for. In their quiet way, Inspectors see to it that rules are followed, laws are respected, and standards are upheld. Inspectors (as much as ten percent of the general population) are the true guardians of institutions. They are patient with their work and with the procedures within an institution, although not always with the unauthorized behavior of some people in that institution.

Providers take it upon themselves to insure the health and welfare of those in their care, but they are also the most sociable of all the Guardians, and thus are the great nurturers of social institutions such as schools, churches, social clubs, and civic groups. Providers are very likely more than ten percent of the population, and this is fortunate for the rest of us, because friendly social service is a key to their nature. Wherever they go, Providers happily give their time and energy to make sure that the needs of others are met, and that social functions are a success.

Protectors make up as much as ten percent the population, because their primary interest is in the safety and security of those they care about - their family, their circle of friends, their students, their patients, their boss, their fellow-workers, or their employees.
