Pittsburgh visual artist Ashante Josey stops by the show to discuss her journey to becoming the star painter that she is today. Her art primarily focuses on Black culture, nature, music, emotion, and symbolism. During our conversation, Ashante reflects on some recent achievements she’s accomplished including her 2023 Artivist Academy fellowship with 1Hood Media, her 2025 Fab 40 Award from the New Pittsburgh Courier, and the August Wilson African American Cultural Center featuring her painting “Let It Go” in their “Being Seen” exhibit.
