Gov. Andrew Cuomo vowed Tuesday to help defeat the state’s Republican members of the House of Representatives when they are up for election next year.

There's the world's largest Uncle Sam at Magic Forest in Lake George and Paul Bunyan at the Enchanted Forest/Water Safari in Old Forge.Yet fiberglass figures also advertised roadside restaurants throughout the region. Most notably from the 1960s was the Burger Family. Last fall, Andy Flynn visited the New York State Museum storage facility in Rotterdam. A Lake George man will spend between 5 and 15 years in state prison, following a boat crash last summer that left an 8-year-old girl dead. Alex West, age 24, was sentenced yesterday in a court in Warren County.

The New York State Legislature is back at the Capitol for three weeks of meetings before the session ends later in June. Supporters of a constitutional convention in New York say the special assembly deserves prominent placement on the November ballot. Every twenty years, New Yorkers have the chance to vote on whether or not the state should hold a constitutional convention. If it’s approved, delegates are elected from each state Senate district, and meet to decide on potential changes to the state’s constitution. Opponents say holding a convention is too risky, and that the state should skip it.

There could be a major change to the bus system in Plattsburgh this summer. Some Clinton County officials want to eliminate a special service for people with disabilities who live in the city. It’s called paratransit, and it’s separate from the regular bus routes. Passengers can call ahead and a bus will come pick them up at home or wherever they are, kind of like a taxi service. The local transit agency says the service is too expensive.
