It takes a lot to get the Yellow Army podcasters out from behind their screens, but the offer of tea and cakes by the seaside seems to have done the trick.

Invited to record this week’s edition sitting outside a beach hut beside Preston Sands, they jumped at the chance. Hence a podcast with the sea in the background and one brief interruption when the heavens opened and threatened to turn their notebooks into papier mache.

On the agenda this week is a look back at the Exeter friendly and ahead at the trip to Weymouth, along with a bash at naming the starting XI for the league opener against Enfield on August 9. It isn’t actually all that hard to do, with potentially the strongest bench in the league to come on and change the game later.

The podcasters wonder if there may be some news soon on a very promising triallist, and mark a couple of dates in your diary. Plus, a new episode of Flying High has landed.
