Total Schmidt Show this week with Allison Weber.

My last Alaska of the year on the NCL Joy and I was lucky enough to work with my friend Allison Weber. She is awesome. I remeber working with her ion her very first ship. She was an opener back then. Not anymore. Allison's a solid headliner. Great shows with her all week. She does jokes, music, parodies, adult shows.... When I first worked with her she had lots of R rated stuff... not much PG. She needed to get alot more to stay on the cruise ship market, and she did. Allison has put together a great library of material. She was excellent all week. I watched all her shows. I usually don't do that. It was a blast.

Sidenote: She is the nicest/sweetest person inh the world. Walking around on the ship she stops and says Hi to everyone. It's unbelievable. Always a smile and a chat. Can say Hi in 38 languages. So positive. It's, and I mean this in the nicest, respectful way.... it's a lot.

But I love her so.

I normally don't like to say bad things about a guest, but this week I make an exception. Rob is a Packer fan.

I've known Rob for many, MANY years. We did the midwest circuit together quite a bit when I lived in Chicago. Rob is one of those "Old Pro" comics that I love to talk with. Great guy, lot of fun, great talk.... I got over the Packer thing.

Shout out to Ben Maggle. I mention him right upfront. Ben (also Packer fan) saw Rob (Packer fan) at a club in Wisconsin (Packer fans) and suggested I have him on. Good call Ben. Thanks.

I will never say Packer fan again.

Total Schmidt Show has Jason Stuart this week.

First, he rightfully called me out on wearing a tank top during recording. My apologies. I feel shame.

Jason Stuart is an Executive Producer, Actor, Writer, Director, filmmaker..... There's really dozens of words and titles jason could have. I love talking to artists who find a way to create themselves. Build a career against the odds. Show business is always that. Pretty much you against everyone to succeed. Jason and I talk about that. From coming out as a gay comedian/performer, to owning it all, taking control of his own career, doing his own thing and not "waiting for the permission to create." He's an inspiring artist to talk too.

3TSS133 has Jason Ostrowski as our guest. I literally met him the night before we recorded this. I usually like to met someone, hang with them, see their show... did not happen here. However, I knew after dinner we were good. Great cat. Has a couple of different shows. Brought his Elton John tribute here. I caught some of it online (links below) This episode is over an hour, and I lost 35 minutes of footage so it could have been longer. Man, it was s great talk. He's got some pretty remarkable stories. We recroded this yet again at the "Alaskan Bar" in the Alaskan Hotel" 167 South Franklin in Juneau. Great bar I've mentioned quite a few times. I record there as much as possible. The sound is a little wonky. Had a bit of a mixing issue, I am (of course) blaming my tech team at Westview Middle School.

A show from LA this week. Brenda Pontiff is a comic from Houston. A city witha great history of comedy. Bill Hicks, Sam Kinison, Billy Dee Washington, T. Sean and Charlie Shannon.... I could go on and on. Brenda took a break from stand-up for several years. Then, she got sucked backed in. That's how comedy gets you. It's a passion. Brenda knows it. She busts her ass all over the LA area doing spots and working on her act. We did a show together the very next day. Great conversation about everything that goes in to business of stand-up. Check it out.

Is one hour late considered late...? Is it. How about I blame the Candian exchange...? OKAY then.

Matt Disero. Canadian. Magician. Father. Beer lover. Ny guest for 3TSS128. Great show on the Celebrity Solstice. We have the same agent. Huge shoutout to Steve Smith at Artists West Entertainment. He's gonna want some sort of credit here. So, let's give it to him.
