In this episode Peter talks about what it means to identify your target market. This is essential, whether you are an IT support company, landscape architect,  pediatrician, or restaurateur. Products and services are commodities; the means are your clients or customers. Success has little to do with the commodities, and everything to do with the means. The most important thing to do before any of that can be accomplished, however, is to know your market. Both your current clients and those prospects or potential clients that you may want to target. If you want to “own” your space you need to know your market.

Over the past few months we have really started focusing on getting “found” online. The rules for online searches have changed pretty dramatically recently as have the ways and means. The majority of searches are done on smart phones, tablets etc and many decisions are made from the results. I was surprised several months ago when I searched for “Italian restaurant near me” and the two place I know did not show up AT ALL! This also got me thinking about how people find us. I did a search for “computer support North Haven” guess what, I WAS INVISIBLE! This is when I started my mission to figure out why and remedy. Charles Henson has been in the IT industry for over twenty years. After getting his first “computer” around 1984 from a school friend, an immediate thought came to mind: if computers break, someone will need to fix them. This simple idea drove Charles to receive his Associates degree in Electrical Engineering from ITT Technical Institute.
